1 Reclaiming system for flat storage applications Bulk handling

2 The Siwertell reclaiming system is easily operated from a control room by one person only. Siwertell reclaiming system for flat storage applications The Siwertell reclaiming system is the ultimate solution for reclaiming bulk material from storage areas. The basket gates, that are the main feature of the system, have for years been handling dry bulk materials in land-based applications as well as in self-unloading vessels, to ensure a controlled flow of material. The reclaiming system is designed to operate in storage areas during the transfer of bulk material from the storage area to a belt conveyor. It has a unique design based on the idea that material should always be handled under full control when being transferred onto a conveyor. Its design not only handles free-flowing bulk materials at high capacities, but also highlyabrasive and hot material such as coal, aggregates and iron ore. During operation, the basket gates guide material onto the belt conveyor at a constant speed and with minimal dust creation and spillage. The side wings of the basket gates prevent overflow of the conveyor belt, even if the conveyor belt accidentally stops and the basket gates are fully open. Also, the configuration of the reclaimer s base protects the conveyor belt from being damaged by scrap material. The basket gates are hydraulicallyoperated via remote control or manoeuvred locally. Only one hydraulic cylinder, two hydraulic hoses and one valve are required for each gate, securing low installation and maintenance costs. The Siwertell reclaiming system, in combination with an adjustable-speed belt conveyor, provide the ideal solution when a variable capacity discharge system is required. Cargotec delivers a complete reclaiming system, including belt conveyors and other components needed to meet each client s individual request.

3 Operation step by step Basket gates Closed mode Open mode Material emptied from storage Final clean-up Can be manoeuvred locally Siwertell reclaiming system application on a 120,000-tonne longitudinal enclosed-type coal storage areas with three lines; depending on the number of lines and gates, work carried out by the payloader will be reduced. Operation The Siwertell reclaiming system consists of a system of basket gates arranged in lines on the floor level of the storage area. Underneath each line of gates, longitudinal belt conveyors are installed. By opening the basket gates in sequence, the bulk material will by gravity flow through the gates, and is guided onto the underground conveyors. This way the storage area will gradually be emptied. The gates are operated either locally or via remote control. This phase of the reclaiming does not require assistance of any equipment. Up to 80 per cent of the total volume can be reclaimed during the gravity phase - the quantity depends on material and number of gates and conveyor lines installed. After the gravity phase, the remaining material will be reclaimed by the use of one or more pay loaders. Features Opening and closing the gates is easy due to their curved base. Continuous flow of material Full material flow control The basket gates are hydraulically operated and maneuvered locally or via remote control Minimal dust and spillage

4 Cross-section drawings of Siwertell reclaiming system Concept application of Siwertell reclaiming system in open coal yard Lower investment and operational costs Compared with traditional reclaiming equipment, the Siwertell reclaiming system reduces investment costs and its unique design ensures lower operational and maintenance costs - all to maximise your investment benefits and provide an efficient and economical technical solution to reclaiming bulk material from a storage area. Equipment Lower equipment costs when compared with using a mechanical reclaimer (type A or B, on next page). Construction Lower construction costs of storage building, due to the fact that the tripper car weight is supported from ground level instead of from the top of the storage structure (as is the case for mechanical reclaimer types A and B). As a consequence, the required size of the storage building is smaller resulting in a more cost-effective alternative. High efficiency and capacities High capacity rates with proven handling rates of up to 6,000 tph. Minimum dust and spillage Minimal dust creation and spillage in comparison to other types of reclaimers, as material is transferred from the bottom. Flexibility Capable of handling free-flowing as well as highly-abrasive bulk materials at large capacities. Reliability The system prevents overflow of the conveyor belt, even if it accidentally stops and the gates are fully open. Siwertell reclaiming system application with two conveyor lines Siwertell reclaiming system application with three conveyor lines Simplified stacker arrangement due to the possibility to have ground support
