4 2. Standard condition A certificate from the Competent Authority of the exporting country satisfying the following requirements: 1. The product is free from OIE listed pathogens for crustaceans. It shall conform to the Control of hazards in aquatic animal feeds of the OIE Aquatic Animal Health Code. 2. The products shall have proper labeling, ensuring traceability. 3. The feed shall be free from pathogenic bacteria viz. salmonella, pathogenic vibrios, all banned antibiotics, chemicals and pharmacologically active substances. 4. Permitted antibiotics used, if any, shall be specified indicating withdrawal period. 5. Maximum moisture level shall be 10%. 6. Steroid hormones shall be absent and aflatoxins shall be less than 10 ppb. 8. Composition of the ingredients and chemicals shall be indicated on the label. 9. Moisture level shall be <10%. 5. Steroid hormones shall be absent and aflatoxins shall be less than 10 ppb. 6. The fish powder shall be free from all banned antibiotics, chemicals and pharmacologically active substances. 7. Certificate shall be furnished to the effect that the fish powder shall be free from mammalian meal and bone meal. 8. Fish powder shall be processed out of steam cooked and sterilized raw material. 9. Heavy metals shall not exceed the following limits: Arsenic : < 1.0 ppm Cadmium : < 1.5 ppm Lead : < 1.0 ppm Mercury : < 1.0 ppm Tin : < 250 ppm Nickel : < 80 ppm Chromium : < 12 ppm 10. Standard condition A certificate from Competent Authority of the exporting country satisfying the following requirements: The product is processed in compliance with HACCP norms in approved seafood processing establishments. The product is free from OIE listed pathogens for aquatic animals viz. diseases of fish, diseases of crustacean and diseases of molluscs in accordance with the type of products. 1. Raw Frozen: a. It shall meet the microbial quality parameters as below: Total Bacterial Count (TPC) at 37 C - < 5,00,000 cfu/g (5x10 5 /g) E. coli - < 20/g Coagulase positive Staphylococci - < 100/g Salmonella - Absent/25g; Vibrio cholerae - Absent/25g; Kanagawa positive V. parahaemolyticus - Absent/25g; Shall be free from OIE listed pathogens for aquatic animals In cooked Product-TPC < 1 lakh cfu/g - E.coli < 10 / gm - Staphylococcus < 100/gm b. In the case of farmed shrimp, a declaration shall be given to the effect that antibiotics and harmful chemicals have not been used in the farming practices and the product is free from residues of chloramphenicol and nitrofurans including its metabolites. c. In case of cephalopods Heavy metals shall not exceed the following limits: Arsenic : < 1.0 ppm Cadmium : < 1.5 ppm Lead : < 1.0 ppm Mercury : < 1.0 ppm Tin : < 250 ppm Nickel : < 80 ppm Chromium : < 12 ppm 10

11 2. For Smoked Seafoods: a. Heating regime shall be as per standards of smoked fishery products to inactivate pathogens and benzopyrene level shall be < 5 ppb. Microbial quality of final product shall be as follows; TPC < 1 lakh cfu/g E.coli < 10 / gm Staphylococcus < 100/gm The chemical parameters shall be as in the case of cooked products. 3. For dried seafood The material shall be free from visible fungal, bacterial, maggots, insect or mite infestation and free from any extraneous/colouring matters. The material shall be within the permissible microbiological and heavy metal limits. Viable egg/cyst shall be absent. Other characteristics on moisture content, sodium chloride and acid insoluble ash shall be as specified by the BIS standards (IS-14956:2001). Drying shall be done as per internationally acceptable hygienic standards. 11

The products shall have proper labeling, ensuring traceability. c. The feed shall be free from pathogenic bacteria viz. salmonella, pathogenic vibrios, all banned antibiotics, chemicals and pharmacologically active substances. d. Permitted antibiotics used, if any, shall be specified indicating withdrawal period. e. Maximum moisture level shall be 10%. f. Steroid hormones shall be absent and aflatoxins shall be less than 10 ppb. g. Composition of the ingredients and chemicals shall be indicated on the label. h. Certificate shall be furnished to the effect that the fishmeal shall be free from mammalian meal and bone meal. 2. Freeze dried products a) It shall be certified that the feed is free from the OIE listed pathogens for fin fish. b) The product shall have been processed in compliance with HACCP norms in approved seafood processing establishments. It shall meet the microbial quality parameters as below: Moisture < 5%, (<10%, For dry fish feed) TPC < 1 lakh cfu/g E. coli - < 10/g Coagulase positive Staphylococci - < 100/g Salmonella - Absent/25g; Vibrio cholerae - Absent/25g; Kanagawa positive V. parahaemolyticus - Absent/25g; c) In the case of farmed shrimp, a declaration shall be given to the effect that antibiotics and harmful chemicals have not been used in the farming practices and 27

Manufacturers shall specify the temperature parameter of the manufacturing process to obtain a six-log virus decrease in the meal (80 ºC for 20 minutes; or85 º C for 15 minutes) ( For dry fish feed) 28

The product shall have been processed in compliance with HACCP norms in approved seafood processing establishments. 2. The Can content shall be free from heads, gills, tail tips, fins and other extraneous matter 3. Entrails shall be completely removed. 4. Percentage of Sodium Chloride in the final product shall be not more than 2 % in the case of brine treated cans (in the case of fish extract 3.5%) 5. Histamine content shall not exceed 20 ppm 6. Product shall conform to the requirements prescribed below: Permissible limits of heavy metals Mercury <0.5 mg/kg Zinc <50.0 mg/kg Copper <10.0 mg./kg. Arsenic <1.0 mg./kg. Commercial sterility shall be ensured, water used for cooling of the can shall be maintained in cooled conditions and adequately chlorinated so as to maintained a minimum free residual chlorine concentration of 1ppm 32

34 16. Standard condition A certificate from Competent Authority of the exporting country satisfying the following requirements: 1. The product is free from OIE listed pathogens for crustaceans / finfish as the case may be. It shall conform to the Guidelines on the control of aquatic animal feed of the OIE Aquatic Animal Health Code. 2. The products shall have proper labeling, ensuring traceability. 3. The feed shall be free from pathogenic bacteria viz. salmonella, pathogenic vibrios, all banned antibiotics, chemicals and pharmacologically active substances. 4. Permitted antibiotics used, if any, shall be specified indicating withdrawal period. 5. Steroid hormones shall be absent 6. Details of the product should be given on the label. 34

36 17.Standard conditions A certificate from Competent Authority of the exporting country satisfying the following requirements: 1. The product is free from OIE listed pathogens for crustaceans. 38 18.Standard conditions The product shall have been processed in compliance with HACCP norms in approved seafood processing establishments. A certificate from the Competent Authority of the exporting country satisfying the following requirements: 1 The fish shall be free from dehydration, discoloration and spots. 2 The temperature shall be less than 4 0 C. 3 The material shall not show any sign of deterioration and shall be free from off odour and foreign odour. 4 The texture of the meat shall be normal and consistent and shall have characteristic flavour of fresh fish. 5 The material shall be free from extraneous matter. 6 The material shall conform to the following bacteriological standards: Total plate count at 37 0 C/g. E.coli count/gm maximum <20 Coagulase Positive Staphylococcus/g <100 Salmonella/25 gm - Nil Pathogenic Vibrios/25g - Nil 7 Histamine (in case of Scombroid fish) < 20 ppm 8 Incase of farmed fish, a declaration shall be given to the effect that antibiotics and harmful chemicals have not been used in the farming practices and the product is free from residues of Chloramphenicol and Nitrofurans including its metabolites. 38
