4 WHO WE ARE Woywod Kunststoffmaschinen GmbH & Co. Vertriebs KG was founded at the end of 1970 as an engineering office for extrusion technology and has been marketing PLASTICOLOR equipment and systems for processing granulates, micro granulates, ground material, flakes and free-flowing powders since We started off with PLASTICOLOR individual dosing equipment and colour change systems. To cope with the steadily increasing demand for equipment and systems, we quickly extended our initial small-batch production to proper series production with an appropriate increase in the number of units produced. Within the scope of constant further-development, we first added volumetric mixing stations to our product range and then gravimetric mixing stations. After this, we added vacuum conveying equipment and driers (hot and dry air systems). Today, PLASTICOLOR is a global name that stands for precision, a long service life, and an optimum cost-benefit ratio. Many leading manufacturers of extrusion systems use the products as their OEM standard. Due to the high levels of precision of PLASTICOLOR equipment and its special way of functioning, they are particularly suitable both for precision dosing and mixing of additives in tiny quantities and for processing recycling material. PLASTICOLOR s remarkable mixing station principle creates a homogeneous material mix that has 4 PLASTICOLOR dosing units and systems

5 excellent horizontal and vertical material distribution. Homogenising in the extruder is made easier and product quality is enhanced. Based on our decades of experience and specialisation in the field of dosing and mixing, we can provide our customers with optimum system configurations from a comprehensive modular system; if required, we can also develop tailor made solutions. Our mechanical and electronic development department works on the basis of feedback from our customers. This means that the requirements of the market are reflected promptly in our products. Various patents including automatic cleaning of dosing units demonstrate WOYWOD s innovative approach. After planning discussions, we draw up solution-oriented suggestions for our customers, which generate high levels of added value in processing operation. In addition to manufacturers of cables, wires, and fibre optic cables, our customers include producers of technical profiles, monofilaments, foils, sheets, and building materials as well as of sanitary ware, food, and compounds. The PLASTICOLOR group of companies is divided into Woywod Kunststoffmaschinen GmbH & Co. Vertriebs KG headquartered in Gräfelfing near Munich, and the production site at Seefeld near Berlin. PLASTICOLOR products are sold and marketed all over the world via a network of representatives, wholesalers and agencies. The PLASTICOLOR product range has an entirely modular structure. The design of the individual components is made that they can be combined to create an individual and tailormade- system to suit the requirements. The PLASTICOLOR modular system has four dosing unit sizes with a performance between 70 g/h and 3,500 kg/h. Dosing units can be used as individual dosing units, but can also be used in Colour change systems Dosing systems Volumetric mixing stations Gravimetric mixing stations Gravimetric dosing-/mixing stations Thanks to the modular principle, it is possible to continue using the parts purchased during initial investment when upgrading (e.g. from volumetrics to gravimetrics), expanding or converting a PLASTICOLOR system. Practical requirements for different production lines are diverse and change quickly. This makes it very important that auxilary equipment can be adapted to the changed requirements. With PLASTICOLOR products, this is possible at any time. PLASTICOLOR is a choice for current use that leaves all options open for the future PLASTICOLOR dosing units and systems 5

6 PLASTICOLOR DOSING UNITS AND SYSTEMS Service Design Woywod provides a comprehensive service from project discussions to start-up in production mode. Project discussions serve to determine the basic data that will ensure the best possible offer for the customer. Offers are phrased clearly in order to prevent misunderstandings between customer and supplier. This transparency is further supported with drawings and more detailed explanations. The Woywod employee will remain the contact person for the whole duration of the project. This prevents important information from getting lost during the process. been collaborating for many years. The worldwide success of the PLASTICOLOR products required Woywod to think internationally. For this purpose, Woywod has developed a dense network of sales partners and dealers in many countries around the globe. plement the developed solutions. Our engineers are assisted by state-of-the-art computer technology and the best software programmes. Drawings can be exchanged in all common formats. When we design special parts such as extruder adapters that are not available in our modular system, we submit them to the customer for approval before we produce them. These parts are only sent for production after repeated checking and approval by the customer. Our PLASTICOLOR standard range is very modular, so as a rule we have to produce only few PLASTICOLOR Dosing units and mixing stations are designed and used for the dosing of granular, free flowing and nonsticky materials, such as masterbatch, regrind materials, virgin materials and PVC dry blends. The fields of application cover all extrusion, blow-moulding and injection moulding manufacturing processes. 6 PLASTICOLOR dosing units and systems
