THE TEG STEP Y STEP 2 3 FILTER PPER UTOMTI SPLIING GROUP IM has designed and produced this particular attachment, with the precise aim to decrease the time necessary to replace the packaging materials, and increase the total machine efficiency. The operator will only have to position the new filter paper reel correctly for the splicing, to take place automatically without stopping the machine or working on it in any way. FILTER PPER UNWINDING, LIGNMENT ND UT The filter paper is cut longitudinally and subdivided into two strips having the same width. The product will be placed on the lower filter paper strip, and then the upper strip will be placed directly on top and heatsealed to the lower one. In order to guarantee a correct filter paper unwinding and cut, it is possible to apply a device constantly checking the paper alignment in respect of the progressing axis. This allows for necessary adjustments, avoiding misplacing the two paper strips upon one another, in order to produce perfect teabags. 6 the c51 TEG QULITY TEG The 51 filter bag is a four sided heatsealed single dose chamber teabag, without cotton thread and tag. The filter bag is perfectly sealed, resistant, discerning, clean and of a high quality. This is infact one of the main features of the 51 product: a teabag produced at such a high speed, perfectly sealed and above all with perfectly clean sealed seams. Square teabag cut and detaching THE SINGLE G The 51, produces heatsealed filter bags on two rows, by a continuous motion and offers both the possibility to produce the filter bag pairs joined at a few points, by means of a convenient and functional perforation, which makes for easy detachment when you come to use them; and also filter bags completely cut, in order to have them already separated and ready for use (SINGLE G). Standard ags Single ag Family size

RESISTNT VERSTILE NEW DISERNING FLEXILE Round teabag cut and detaching THE SINGLE G... FMILY SIZE The 51 gives the possibility to produce teabags with dimensions suitable to contain a high quantity of tea and herbs. In this case, the 51 will produce teabags on a single row, giving the possibility to pack teabags with a minimum dimension of 55x120 mm., up to a maximum of 150x120 mm. (FMILY SIZE), suitable to contain from a minimum of 10 grams to a maximum of 28,34 grams of black tea (1 oz.) THE 51 ROUND TEG The 51 can either be supplied in the round bag version, or can be modified from the traditional square bag to the round bag afterwards, directly at the customer s plant. It will always be possible, however, at any time, to re-establish the original specification of the machine. THE ROUND TEG GROUP The group aimed to produce 51 round teabags consists practically of a couple of rotating cutters, complete with circular knives, which provide directly for a complete cut and detaching of the single teabags. The filter paper waste is conveyed and rejected from the machine functional cycle by means of a proper independent aspirating system, which may be either supplied by IM together with the 51 machine, or alternatively, by the customers themselves.

The cartoning attachment step by step Flat blank magazine and carton forming Stack forming VRIOUS OPTIONL GROUPS The 51 cartoning attachment is already equipped to receive various optional groups: pneumatic carton coding attachment (embossing) carton rejection with faulty product checkweigher system SPEED ND EFFIIENY This cartoning attachment automatically forms and fills the flat blanks. The group counts and stacks the heatsealed filter bags and places them vertically, directly into the carton by achieving the maximum safety and efficiency. The 51 cartoning attachment, reaching a maximum speed of 50 cartons per minute, removes the flat blanks from the relevant magazine, forms the cartons, inserts the teabag stacks and finally closes the carton. Once the carton is opened, the teabags look well placed, with the stack level and stable and aesthetically very tasteful. VERSTILE ND FLEXILE One of the main features of the 51 cartoning attachment is its high versatility and flexibility. It is possible to pack cartons containing from 1 to 4 rows of double teabags with counts from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 300 bags per carton. Thanks to the wide range of carton sizes, it is possible to find the most suitable packaging requirement. The carton size change over, can either be a complete size change, or, according to your needs, a partial (carton height only) change over. This operation, is easy and quick, allowing the machine to return quickly to production speed.

Stack insertion into the carton arton transfer, closure and exit ONVEYOR EXIT conveyor with independent motorization can be fitted on the 51 machine, particularly in the teabag stacking station. The teabag stacks formed by the 51 machine are pushed onto the conveyor, by means of an appropriate pusher, and can then be removed manually for hand cartoning or polythene bag packaging, or for any other particular type of packaging. THE ONVEYOR EXIT WITH UTOMTI DIVERSION SYSTEM This group can be provided, in addition to the standard conveyor exit, with an automatic diversion system able to feed, on two separate rows, a number of pre-determined stacks in order to facilitate the teabag count to be inserted into polythene bags or manually into cartons. Either the exit conveyor or the exit conveyor with automatic diversion system can be fitted onto the 51 machine with or without the cartoning attachment already fitted.

THE FLOW-PK THE FLOW-PK The 51 also offers, the capability of a final bag style packing, as an alternative to the traditional packing into closed carton: the FLOW- PK. The 51 is connected to a horizontal packaging machine and the teabag stacks are removed from the 51 and transferred, by means of a connection belt, to the flow-pack machine. The teabags are counted according to the required quantity for the final pack, and inserted into the wrapping station. The stacks are then completely wrapped by the packaging material which can be chosen from cellophane, polypropylene, various laminate materials or cold sealable materials. The stacks, prepared as mentioned, pass to the station, where the sealing and final flow-pack cut are made. DISERNING PRTIL EONOMI 51 ONNETED T 90 TO THE FLOW-PK MHINE

EONOMI ND DISERNING This kind of packaging is possible with either square rectangular or even round bags. It is also possible to flow-pack 1,2,3 and 4 rows of teabag stacks. The result is a practical pack, which is functional and at the same time tasteful, without considering the enormous economical saving of packaging materials. If appropriate packaging materials are used, it is possible to obtain a completely hermetic and waterproof pack, avoiding therefore, the aroma escaping from the pack, and the inlet of humidity and air. The product aroma remains unaltered at all times, until the moment you use it. 51 ONNETED TO FLOW-PK MHINE

RELILE SFE ND HIGHLY EFFIIENT ESY ESS TO LL FUNTIONL YLE STTIONS The work process of the 51 has been studied to simplify the relationship between the operator and the machine itself, and what is more to obtain the best and easiest access to any of the stations of the machines functional cycle. REDUED SPRE PRTS ONSUMPTION The innovative solutions adopted, the reduced number of moving parts, the accurate study for the choice of the materials, determine a high processing security and are the best way to guarantee a low spare parts consumption and at the same time reduce costs. THE MHINE OMPUTER ONNETION The automatic collection of all information relevant to a machine or line processing is an important element necessary to keep efficiency at a maximum level and production costs to a minimum. The 51 machine, can be equipped with a serial interface RS232 or RS422, that, connected to a central computer, allows a check on the production position at any given time. ONLY ONE OPERTOR The innovative technological solutions, the automatic material splicing, the avant-garde electronics, the constant and complete control on the whole working cycle of the machine, determine a high level of reliability of the 51 and are the fundamental basis to allow only one operator to handle more than one machine.

WEIGHT UTOMTI ONTROL ND DJUSTMENT The 51 offers the possibility to fit an automatic weight adjustment group on the product feeding and dosing group. This attachment, connected to a checkweigher unit at the end of the line, rejects automatically the cartons not reflecting the exact weight previously selected by the operator. The weight is controlled on the checkweigher, and automatically adjusted to the required dosage. PRODUT ONTROL In order to guarantee the maximum packaging reliability, any station of the 51 functional cycle has been provided with a specific product control device. Furthermore, the production efficiency is kept at the highest level, since all controls (except for those where it has not been possible), do not stop the machine, but cause an automatic faulty package rejection. THE ELETRONIS The avant-garde solutions adopted, the PL, the control panel provided with the TOUH-PNEL, the rational and functional positioning of the components inside the electrical compartments, complying to the international regulations, demonstrates how IM has designed and manufactured the 51 electrical system to guarantee maximum reliability, easy access, high intervention facility and above all total safety. The push-button panel, placed in the operator station is complete with all controls and signals necessary for the machine handling. The electronics respond to all the most complex functions, starting from the heating groups to the quality control, assisting the machine size dedication. High product quality
