2 PJM s Energy Efficiency program pays businesses for permanent load reduction resulting from energy efficiency projects they have completed or will be complete in the future. The program pays organization capacity revenue for up to four years following the completion of a qualified project. Qualifying projects include those with permanent energy reductions involving lighting, refrigeration equipment, HVAC, motors, VFDs, and more. 6 Energy Efficiency The CPower Way The PJM s rebates for energy efficiency programs tend to be higher than those offered by your local utility. As a licensed curtailment service provider (CSP), CPower is able to work with your organization to ensure your energy efficiency project qualifies at the PJM level so you can earn more revenue for the amount of energy usage you ve permanently reduced. CPower s team of energy experts can assess your project and optimize the revenue your organization earns from it by bidding the amount of capacity you ve reduced into PJM s capacity market (also known as the Reliability Pricing Model), allowing your organization to potentially earn additional revenue for the next four years.

7 Energy Efficiency Program Parameters and Requirements Minimum Size Offer Schedule Lead time Compensation Compliance Period 100 kw aggregation by zone. TBD RT varies, but typically 1 hour. DA notice sent by 1:30pm day prior. RPM zonal capacity clearing price. There is no compliance required. A detailed M&V Report provided during enrollment determines the credited kw for payment. Event Duration Hourly offering increments. Awarded/Dispatched events last for the hour offered. Enrollment Deadline 15 business days prior to June 1st, typically around May10th. Technology Required Only requirement is that the project can be measured to show demand reduction between the hours of 2pm-6pm June August excluding weekends and NERC holidays for summer or Base EE.

8 Energy Efficiency Qualifying projects Qualifying projects include: Lighting Refrigeration HVAC Motors Variable-frequency Drives (VFDs) Weatherization/Building Envelope Non-Qualifying projects include: Non-permanent load reduction during the Energy Efficiency program s performance hours Dispatchable Resources Load-shifting Behavior change, programmable thermostats Generators, solar, wind, cogeneration Variable-frequency Drives (VFDs) Fuel switch (conversion to natural gas)
