Demo Solution Name: One-Touch Inspection Demo Solution Version: v.2.4 Date: June 8, Application Description One-Touch Inspection is a mobile app that presents you a set of questions for a specific location. By using barcodes or Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tags, reading these unique identifiers validate Who, Where and When an inspection, survey or questionnaire was done. This inspection process example is a portion of a pre-trip truck inspection that commercial fleets must do prior to drivers getting on the highway. It will show how easy it is to do an inspection and record the results. 3 Demonstration Instructions These instructions demonstrate the procedures to use the demonstration application. Specific instruction steps are formatted in bold italics. 3.1 Prerequisites Prerequisite 1. Install One-Touch Inspection on your Android device Wi-Fi or Mobile Data required 2. PDF reader app recommended 3. Notes & For sending and receiving data between your phone and the One-Touch Inspection database, the user must enable either a Wi-Fi connection or Mobile Data communication or both. In order to view on your phone the PDF Report created by One-Touch Inspection, you need to have PDF reader installed such as Adobe Acrobat. Go to Google Play to get these free applets. 4. 4 5. Prerequisite If Beacontree sends you a couple of NFC sample tags, ensure your NFC Service is activated. Notes & The Click2Demo site can only provide the software. Beacontree is available to provide a couple of NFC tag samples to show you how the TC Phone s NFC reader is the key feature for doing certified inspections. To get these samples, your request to info@beacontree.net and provide us your name and company address. We will send you a Key Fob and NFC tag. 3.2 Barcode Read Procedures A set of barcodes assigned to this Inspection Demo app are provided in Appendix A of this document on page 14. Print this page before running this procedure. Procedure Description An easy and accurate method for entering data is reading a barcode. 1. The Barcode reader button (circled in red) is found in the Log-in window (left screenshot) and the Inspection Zone window (right screenshot). Tap either one of these Barcode buttons to launch the reader. 2. In the left screenshot, we are using the integrated camera method where you align the view window so the barcode is visible on the screen. A beep sounds AND the device vibrates to indicate the barcode was read successfully. In the case of the Log-in window, the captured data appears in the text field as shown in the right screenshot. 5 Procedure Description In the left screenshot, we are showing the Inspection Zone barcode example for the In Cab. 3. With the barcode read, it immediately goes to the start of the inspection questions for that zone as shown in the right screenshot. In case you can t read the barcode, log-in by typing the User ID. As shown in the left screenshot, tap the User ID field to launch the QWERTY keyboard. 4. Then tap the?123 Button marked with the red circle to change the QWERTY to a Numeric keyboard. The Numeric keyboard is presented as shown in the right screenshot. The value is the User ID assigned for this Inspection Demo app. Type in in the User ID field. Then tap the blue Sign in button marked with the red oval to login as the Inspector. 5. To enter an Inspection Zone, you can tap any one of the 3 zone buttons highlighted with the red ovals. 6 3.3 NFC Tag Read Procedures We provide two types of NFC tags. The blue Key Fob is used to log-in the User into the One-Touch Inspection app. The black NFC tag is used to identify a specific inspection location; it is designed for outdoor use because it meets the IP 67 standard and can be placed on metal, wood or plastic surfaces that can range in temperature from -40 C to 85 C (-40 F to 185 F). Procedure Description The easiest and most accurate method for entering data is reading an NFC tag. To log-in as the Inspector, we use a Key Fob as shown in the left screen shot. 1. Put your phone over the key fob to read this tag. The right screenshot shows the tag ID that is loaded into the User ID field. Tap the blue Sign in button marked with the red oval >>> to log-in as the Inspector. To enter an inspection zone, we use an RFID tag as shown in the left screen shot. 2. Put your phone over the RFID tag to read it. When the tag is read, it goes to the start of the inspection questions for the assigned zone as shown in the right screenshot. 7 3.4 Inspection Procedures The Inspection Demo is based on a commercial truck inspection that is a jurisdictional requirement throughout North America. The 3 inspection zones in this demo are a small subset of the typical truck inspection. Procedure Description The One-Touch Inspection (OTI) icon is marked with the red circle in the left screenshot. Tap the OTI icon to launch the mobile app. 1. This brings you to the Log-in screen as shown in the right screenshot. You can log-in using 3 different methods: 1) read a barcode; 2) type the value; 3) read a NFC tag. Methods 1 and 2 are standard with the Click2Demo app. For the 3 rd method, you must request some NFC tag samples by ing info@beacontree.net and provide us with your company name and address. We will base these demo instructions on barcode reads. Tap the barcode button as marked with the red circle in right screenshot 2. On the Inspection Demo Barcode sheet, read the Login Barcode as shown in the left screenshot. The right screenshot shows the TC55 viewing the Log-in Barcode. 8 Procedure Description The User ID for this demo is Once entered, tap the blue Sign in button marked with the red oval to log-in as the Inspector. 3. As shown in the right screenshot, your Inspector name is Demo Tester where you work for Zebra- Beacontree as a driver. Multiple inspection types are possible; for this demo, we are presenting just one choice. Tap the Inspection Demo button as marked with the red oval to launch the inspection. The left screenshot shows the list of inspection Zones associated with this demo. We will start with the first Zone, Front of Truck 4. Tap the Barcode Read button as marked with the red oval. On the Inspection Demo Barcode sheet, read the Front of Truck Zone barcode as shown in the right screenshot The left screenshot shows the TC55 viewing the Front of Truck Barcode. When read, it goes directly to the Inspection Zone questions. 5. The right screenshot shows the first question set. When a defect is identified, simply hit the checkbox. 9 Procedure Description For most defects, it will prompt you to take a photo as shown in the left screenshot. Tap the Camera icon marked with the red circle to launch the camera. 6. The right screenshot shows the camera ready to take a photo. This photo example is not a motor with leaking oil, but demonstrates how this important task is achieved. Tap the TC55 blue button below the image to take the photo. There are 3 photo choice buttons to choose in the TC55: on the left is an X to delete and leave the camera function; in the middle there is a circle to redo the photo; on the right there is a to accept the photo. 7. If the photo taken is acceptable, tap the button. The screenshot shows a Photo Taken acknowledgement to the right of the photo icon. Tap the Next button marked with a red circle to go to the next set of defect questions. The left screenshot shows the last set of zone defect questions. There is a progress bar marked with a blue oval that shows a blue dot on the right side that symbolizes the last defect window. This is why the Next button is greyed out and the Done button is now activated. The green oval highlights a scroll bar which means there are more than 3 questions in this set. 8. Tap the Done button marked with the red square to complete the Zone inspection. The right screenshot shows OTI returning to the Zone overview. The yellow highlight represents a minor defect was the worst case for this zone. Tap the In Cab button marked with the red oval to go to the next inspection zone. 10 Procedure Description When going through this In Cab Zone, pretend there are no defects by hitting the Next button for every window. The left screenshot shows the last defect questions for the In Cab Zone. 9. Tap the Done button marked with a red square to complete the In Cab Zone inspection. The right screenshot shows a green highlight for the In Cab Zone which represents no defect was identified for this zone. Tap the Left Side of Truck button marked with the red oval or tap the Barcode button marked with a red square to go to the next inspection zone. For the barcode method, read the Left Side of Truck barcode as shown in the left screenshot. 10. The right screenshot shows the TC55 viewing the Left Side of Truck Barcode. When read, it goes directly to the Inspection Zone questions. The left screenshot shows a major defect that was identified for the Left Side of Truck zone. With the photo taken, tap the Next button marked with a red square to go to the next window. 11. The right screenshot shows the all the zone questions were reviewed for the Left Side of Truck Zone since the Done button is activated. 11 Procedure Description The left screenshot shows OTI returning to the Zone overview where all zones have been completed because they are color coded and the Submit button is activated. The red highlight for the Left Side of Truck Zone represents a major defect was identified as the worst case for this zone. 12. Tap the Submit button marked with a red square to start the inspection submission. The right screenshot shows the Odometer Reading entry request. Tap the Odometer Reading field as marked with the red oval to launch the numeric keyboard. Enter a low number, then tap the Ok button marked with the red circle to record the Odometer value. The left screenshot shows the Odometer entry was invalid. OTI presents the last Odometer reading as marked with the red oval. 13. The right screenshot shows resubmitting an Odometer entry that is higher than the last reading that was presented in the left screenshot. Hit the Submit button to get to this Odometer entry. Enter a higher number than the last updated reading, then tap the Ok button marked with the red circle to record the Odometer value. 12 Procedure Description 14. The standard OTI version automatically sends an back to the Inspector because their address is registered in the OTI database. For this demo app, we can send you the Report if you enter your address. Otherwise, hit the Skip button as shown in the left screenshot. If you want an sent, tap the field as marked with the red oval in the left screenshot to launch the QWERTY keyboard. Enter your address, and then tap the Ok button marked with the red circle in the right screenshot. 15. The left screenshot shows the inspection results have been uploaded to the OTI server and are now being built as a PDF Report. As well, we record the inspection location s Latitude and Longitude displayed at the bottom of this image as marked with red oval. The right screenshot shows a Summary of the identified defects. Tap the Done button to end the One-Touch Inspection process as marked with the red square. If you request an OTI Inspection Report be sent to your address, go to your account. 16. The left screenshot shows the that was sent. It states the Inspection # and shows a portion of the report (as seen at the bottom of the left screenshot). The right screenshot shows the bottom of the where the PDF file attachment is seen. Tap the PDF file as marked with the red oval to launch the PDF read app to view the report. 13 Procedure Description The left screenshot shows the 1 st page of the report that was generated by this inspection. 17. The top table shows the details associated with the inspection: Inspector, Vehicle, Inspection Date/Time, Odometer Reading and Inspection Location. The 2 nd table shows the inspection results. The right screenshot is the 2 nd page of the report which shows the defect photos that were taken. 18. If you expand the PDF to view the details in the screenshot to the right, you will see a Google Map Link as marked with the red oval. Tap the Google Map Link to view exactly where the inspection took place. The left screenshot displays the inspection location on Google Map shown by the red marker. 19. The right screenshot shows the same location from a higher level where you can view the major roads nearby. You change the view by zooming out. Along with the inspection results recorded in the report, this feature is important for Inspectors to show Jurisdictional Officers where they did their inspection.
