Using the inductive loops technology the device operates with high accuracy in one or more traffic lanes. CrossCount can be combined with additional sophisticated algorithms and configured according to individual requirements which allows its utilisation in any traffic situation. Its advantage is the use of one CrossCount control unit which, in combination with different modules, provides a comprehensive range of features including the ability to connect additional peripherals. HOW DOES IT WORK? The system is based on anonymous monitoring and collection of unique MAC addresses of Bluetooth devices inside vehicles passing through a monitored section. 6 CASE STUDY UPGRADE OF THE D1 MOTORWAY The project s goal was to inform the general public about delays that occurred during the process of modernisation of the most significant arterial road in the Czech Republic the D1 motorway. The motorway reached the end of its life-cycle. The Road and Motorway Directorate decided to completely rebuild its oldest 200 km section. The upgrade is a work in progress, done in sections since BTTT Module helps to monitor the travel time within and around the sections under repair. The measured data is displayed online on the web portal available to the general public. There, it is possible to obtain current and historical data about delays on individual sections being modernized. Data is collected from roughly 35 thousand vehicles passing the sections every day (it was measured that about % of the vehicles have Bluetooth devices on board). The advantage of this system is immediate reaction to impending delays and traffic congestions. Warnings are automatically published via the web portal and subsequently through other channels (radio, RDS, GPS, etc.). +15 minut 10 11
