The monitoring of valid display and input areas on a touch panel as required in Subset-091 is monitored with IconTrust and on DEUTA Multi-Functional Terminals. DEUTA ETCS products fully comply with the relevant TSI specifications for train control, Control Command and Signalling (CCS) and the specifications for locomotives and passenger rolling stock (LOC & PAS). DEUTA Multi-Functional Terminals, REDBOX recorders, sensors and indicators thus offer the best prerequisites for a safe, convergent and technically compatible European railway system. Within the scope of odometry, DEUTA equips ETCS vehicles with respectively two Doppler radar sensors and two axle-mounted sensors, or alternatively, two pick-up sensors. The different forms of the output signals guarantee reliable transmission of information. The DEUTA radar sensors use the Doppler principle with a patented antenna arrangement. This minimises the influence of track conditions and provides a reliable and accurate speed signal for the odometry. As the worldwide largest producer of Doppler radar sensors for railway traffic, you profit from our Functional TSI Structural TSI experience and our knowledge. DEUTA radar sensors form an integral part of ETCS odometry systems and are well known to experts which expedites the acceptance procedure. This software library provides optimal sensor information to the user and has specifically been developed for ETCS applications. DEUTA's axle-mounted sensors are driven by a mechanical coupling with the vehicle axle. Impervious to dirt and vibration, they are largely maintenance-free and achieve high resolution even at low rotational speeds. The pick-up sensors are characterised by an extremely long service life thanks to their PRM (Persons with reduced mobility) SRT (Safety in railway tunnels) CCS (Control Command and Signalling) non-contacting and thus almost wear-free mode of operation. The pick-up sensors use the Hall Effect to measure the speed. Measurements are taken by scanning a gear tooth or pulse wheel. The sensor is placed at a particular distance above the wheel. DEUTA ETCS products are already TSI-certified as individual components and as DEUTA Safety System. Comprehensive area TSI Applicable for odometry: In addition to the diversity of measuring principles, redundancy of the sensors is decisive in order to secure information availability. The best choice are two Doppler radar sensors and two axle or pick-up sensors on different axles.

7 1 DEUTA Your Partner for ETCS Equipment DEUTA Your Partner for ETCS Equipment 13 ETCS STM/NTC Specific Transmission Module National Train Control»DEUTA National ETCS Competence for STM and NTC«DEUTA Multi-Functional Terminals are prepared for ETCS as well as STM/NTC operation. The Multi-Functional Terminal with the DEUTA Graphical User Interface (GUI) in ETCS as well as in STM/NTC operation indicates the specific information for the national train control system: Target and actual speed, target distance, signal information and the state of train protection. The "Specific Transmission Modules" (STMs) form the link between ETCS and the classical national train control systems, which are also called Class B systems. With Baseline 3, STM was renamed to NTC (National Train Control). Vehicles with ETCS and STM/NTC equipment can thus travel on tracks without ETCS equipment receiving and processing information transmitted by the national track equipment and forwarding it to the vehicle computer. The requirements on the Juridical Recorder for ETCS are described in Subset-07. The DEUTA REDBOX recorders register the ETCS-relevant data in accordance with the specification. ETCS essentially works on the basis of message data. In STM/NTC operating mode, the signals of the Class B systems are also stored. Here it is essential to record data such as, e.g. speed and Balise information, speed changes. Our -capable indicating units offer additional safety. The ESG indicator with stepper motor provides feedback to an automatic control unit via a redundant controller. It is characterised by an integrated monitoring system (feedback unit). The electrical EGS indicator is equipped with two independently operating moving coil instruments whose inputs are adapted to current, voltage or PWM signals. The quality and ruggedness, self-diagnosis and reliability of sensors have a considerable influence on the accuracy and safety of the ETCS applications.
