3 About MFB MFB Products is an Australian, privately owned company which commenced trading in Its primary objective remains to develop and manufacture metalwork for the Communications, IT, Education, Security and Defence industries. MFB design, manufacture and distribute a full range of 19 data cabinets, wall mounting cabinets, IP and RF rated cabinets, high security enclosures, and also a full range of accessories. Whilst MFB offer a standard range of products, they also custom build cabinets for specific applications MFB maintain a high level of commitment to its enclosure business, another important aspect to the company is its ability to provide precesion sheetmetal components. MFB have extensive experience in working with customers to produce bespoke metalwork. Working in light gauge sheet steel, stainless steel and aluminium to stringent specifications and tight tolerances. MFB are geared for both mass production and niche supply. MFB s head office and manufacturing in Wantirna South Victoria consists of full sheet metal fabrication, powder coat finishing, light engineering, assembly, low level electrical wiring, also warehousing and logistics under a 6300 sq meter roof. The Sydney operations located in Lidcombe provide additional support to customers offering additional warehouse facilities and supply logistics for the east coast. In order to maintain market leadership, MFB Management has a philosophy of ensuring the very latest in machinery technology for all facets of manufacturing, the very latest in software technology to assist with Design, resource planning, financial control and communication. MFB is also ISO-9001 Quality Accredited, which drives all facets of the business. This document identifies the MFB operation and its capabilities in greater detail. 4 About MFB ESTABLISHMENT OF MFB 1970 MFB opened it s doors and started manufacturing sheetmetal components for the electronics can communications industries, specialising in bespoke products, MFB soon become well known and respected for its innovation and design. ISO 9001 ACCREDITATION 1997 MFB achieved the quality accreditation system ISO9001. This quality system drives all facets of the business through administration, marketing and manufacturing. SOFTWARE LAUNCH 2006 MFB launch their new integrated software package Microsoft Dynamics Nav The system drives all aspects of the business including administration, sales, manufacturing, assembly and despatch EXPANSION SYDNEY, SINGAPORE Continued expansion led to the establishment of a Sydney Sales Office and warehouse, and the creation of MFB Asia Pte Ltd, a Singapore based company set up to service the Asian market MOVING HEAD OFFICE MFB moved to its current premises in Wantirna South, Victoria. This purpose built building of approximately 6300 square meters (68,000 square feet) accommodates administration, sales, CAD/ CAM centre, sheet metal fabrication, powder coat finishing, light engineering, assembly and warehousing facilities all under one roof 2008 SCEC APPROVAL MFB achieved SCEC (Security Construction and Equipment Committee) approval for the supply of high security cabinets. Referred to as Class B and Class C cabinets 40 Years 2010 MFB celebrates 40 years of manufacturing in Australia. Quite an achievement! The company employs over 60 people in Melbourne and Sydney. UPGRADE OF PLANT TO 2014 INCLUDE FIP GASKET MACHINE MFB have proudly added a new FIPFG (Form in Place Foam Gasket) machine to our line-up, which is revolutionary in the way in which we seal our Industrial style IP rated cabinets. This machine is also set up for gluing. So all glass and acrylic panels are sealed into place, with a continuous bead that provides a neat, clean and durable finish CAD SOFTWARE UPGRADE MFB upgrades its CAD software to the latest Inventor 2013 version. With ongoing upgrades, the increased functionality of the new package provides MFB with the ability to work with customers utilising the latest in design Page 4 of 27 MFB Products Capability Document Issue A11

5 Continuous Improvement As a centre of excellence, MFB has dedicated continuous improvement programs designed to assist product quality, processes and services at administration, manufacturing and customer levels. Some of these programs include-: Safety Awareness, which is enforced by the OH&S committee, the team meet 4 times a year, encouraging a review of existing, and new safety measures undertaken at MFB. Preventative Maintenance and reduction in waste programs including effective utilisation of sheet steel to reduce scrap, and 5S activities focusing on department organisation, cleaning and visual management. Other activities include monthly design meetings to facilitate greater awareness of product design and efficiency. This includes both new product for release and existing ongoing product development. Quality documentation such as our Design Plan Checklist that follows the job right thru the production process and requires data input verifying production stages are met correctly and accurately. Our ERP software links the entire operation process, from initial customer quoting to sales orders, to production processing (MRP) thru to despatch and invoicing. This seamless approach ensures processing accuracy and assists in production turn around. We take a common sense approach to the environment at MFB; Employees are issued with appropriate PPE, our welding bay is fitted with gas extractors. Our powder coat is non toxic. We no longer use dangerous degreasing techniques, and by default we use clean premium grade Galvaneal sheet steel. New machinery is servo electric, replacing old technologies such as hydraulics. Overhead lights are more energy efficient, and fitted with auto light sensors for when natural light is sufficient. At MFB we are dedicated to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer standards, including factory acceptance testing (FAT s) and customer driven company audits. Other various market response analysis programs have been developed to assist MFB in identifying customer needs and the best way to meet demand. These include the review of the MFB business plan, to ensure focus and direction is maintained. The MFB customer complaint procedure providing a full 180 degree feedback to customers. And the customer survey program, which is conducted once every two years. These programs assist in acknowledging technology and economic changes within the market and the impact this has on MFB and how we can step up and meet these challenges. 8 Quality System MFB have always maintained the highest standards of quality management through-out all facets of the business. This was formalised by NCSI in 1997 with the achievement of AS/NZS ISO 9001 Quality System for design, development, production and manufacture, installation and servicing. MFB have continually improved our business, these continual improvements have recently helped us in the achievement of ISO 9001:2015. MFB cabinets also conform to various performance standards including IEC 60297, MIL Spec STD 285 and AS 1939 as applicable. The commitment to a Quality Management System forms the basis of all facets of MFB s business from contract review to design, manufacture and assembly. The company s quality Objectives are: To monitor financial resources to enable the company to provide up to date processes, plant and equipment. To use the quality system to assist the company in being profitable to reward shareholders and employees. To strive to become more efficient and cost effective. 9 Design Plan Checklist Design Plan Checklists (DPC) are issued for specific projects by the Design department. The DPC assures products are manufactured to all required standards and specific customer specifications. These items are checked at key stages within the plant. These stages can include design, prototyping and punching, welding, coatings and final assembly. The unique requirements are dependant on the product, and the customer s specifications. Certain aspects demanded by the customer will also be included within this document, these can include first run, and factory acceptance testing The DPC will also include the evidence of checking through the plant, assembly drawings, and 1 st level Bills of Material. Once the order is completed, the products are shipped with a copy of the DPC for customer reference. Material, Powder Coating, Plating and Screen Printing requirements. MFB use premium grade Galvaneal steel, commercial grades of Aluminium, a variety of Stainless Steel s, also Brass, Copper. Acrylic and Glass within the manufacturing processes MFB have in house powder coating facilities utilising both batch and line feed automation processes, depending on the customer s requirements. Additional to this MFB utilise sub contractors for plating and specialised finishes. MFB can also provide Screen Printing, and the generation of Artwork as required. MFB are able to work with customers to maintain a required client standard where specified. Page 9 of 27 MFB Products Capability Document Issue A11

10 Class B & Class C requirements - SCEC Certified. MFB are certified to manufacture Class B and Class C cabinets as specified and endorsed by the Security Construction ad Equipment Committee. This certification means MFB have the ability to produce cabinets which meet the highest security standards for equipment containment and protection of Australian Government resource. Whilst MFB have produced a standard range of cabinets, they can also manufacture to your specific needs with every cabinet conforming to the SCEC standards. MFB Patented High Security Locking System. A copy of our certification is available upon request. Shock and Vibration requirements MFB use accredited test facilities to carry out any customer specific requirements. Generally MFB will conform to Vibration MIL STD (4-25 Hz) and Shock MIL S 901D. A qualification report can be provided to the customer. Any costs for Shock and Vibration testing is an additional charge that will be shown separately within any pricing table. Refer to sample Shock & Vibration Capability Report, page 11 RFI and IP requirements MFB manufacture a standard range of RF Shielded and IP Rated enclosures. Customer can specify customisation if required, also test certificates are available at an additional cost. MFB use accredited test facilities for both RF and IP testing.
