3 Executive Summary With this new Action Plan, Vihenthi Co. Pty Ltd is demonstrating its role as a responsible Corporate Citizen with our commitment to the Australian Packaging Covenant. We believe that we have a role to play in the community and our actions can influence the attitudes of customers and the industry in general in order to minimize the amount of waste ending up in the landfill. We are committed to increasing awareness amongst our staff in regards to the impact our business operations and daily personal actions have on the environment. We will continue to look at opportunities to increase recycling at our warehouses and offices and to try to influence our suppliers to improve and minimize packaging whenever possible. The management and staff of Vihenthi Co. Pty Ltd are committed to the company making continual progress towards contributing to the Covenant s goals and to making a difference to how we can minimize the environmental impacts of packaging. 4 Company Profile Established in 1988, Vihenthi Co. Pty Ltd is a distributor of packaged, frozen and fresh grocery products such as rice, oil, noodles, coconut milk, garlic, sauces, spices, snacks, and frozen goods to a variety of supermarkets, Asian grocery retailers, restaurants and Foodservice distributors. Our head office and warehouse is located in Morley, Western Australia and our only subsidiary, VHT Sydney Pty Ltd, is located in Auburn, New South Wales. We are a brand owner distributing products from a variety of local suppliers and we also import products from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia & Korea. The company s annual turnover of imported stock is between $4M - $5.02M, out of which our own brands accounts for $2.5M - $2.7M.
