TransGuard Overview February 2015

TransGuard Overview A returnable material handling system Molded from expanded polypropylene (EPP) Lightweight & Durable High-energy absorption and excellent cushioning Recyclable Started in the Automotive Industry but has moved into other market segments such as Medical & Technology Standard sizes to fit 45 x 48 Auto industry pallet Allows for a common female tool to be used Customer only has to buy male half of the tool which reduces tooling costs 2

TransGuard Product Lines TransGuard Tote Inserts TransGuard Stand Alone Totes TransGuard Bulk Bin Inserts TransGuard Large Scale Custom Dunnage 3

TransGuard Tote Inserts A tote is an injection molded box that is designed to fit a standard sized pallet Typical 1/6th Tote with Insert TransGuard Tote Inserts are light density parts that go into a standard injection molded tote Typical Quarter Tote with Insert Products are often referred to by their size or pallet modularity as one quarter or one sixth tote Tote inserts offer a savings over traditional interior dunnage

TransGuard Stand Alone Totes Replace the standard hand held tote and fabricated insert and allow for more parts per bin than fabricated Stand Alone Totes They are typically made of higher density EPP Keep parts from getting scratched/damaged Allow for complex interior customization; complex features are easy to design and mold The key benefit of Stand Alone Totes is that they are also height customized which allows us to maximize the number of products in a stack Stand-alone totes offer competitive tooling costs Returnable and reusable

Height Customization = Freight Savings Plastic Injection Molded Tote w/ Molded EPP Insert TransGuard Stand Alone EPP Tote Insert Cost $9 TransGuard Cost $15 EPP Tooling Cost $6,000 EPP Tooling Cost $7,500 Packaging cost (tooling + dunnage) $74,008 Packaging cost (tooling + dunnage) $116,209 Parts per tote 3 Parts per tote 3 Totes per pallet 16 Totes per pallet 20 Parts per pallet load 48 Parts per pallet load 60 Pallets per truck (53' truck) 56 Pallets per truck (53' truck) 56 Parts per truck 2,688 Parts per truck 3,360 Trucks per year (to ship 520K parts) 194 Trucks per year (to ship 520K parts) 155 Estimated cost per truck load $2,000 Estimated cost per truck load $2,000 Freight cost per year $388,000 Freight cost per year $310,000 Annual Freight Savings $ 78,000 x 4 years $312,000

TransGuard Universal Totes A unique subset of Stand Alone Totes Universal Stand Alone Totes Slots molded into the side of the tote for plastic corrugated inserts Common 1/4 tote size Use as many or as few inserts as needed to fit product No need to buy tooling 7

TransGuard Bulk Bin Inserts Bulk Bin A Bulk Bin is essentially a plastic box, with an integrated pallet and drop down doors Because of the large footprint, Bulk Bins are typically used to pack larger items Bulk Bin Inserts go inside these traditional plastic bulk bins TransGuard Bulk Bin Insert for Passenger Airbag Like pallets and steel racks they are designed to maximize the yield in a truck

TransGuard Custom Dunnage Provides a good solution for: Large, fragile, complex items that are difficult to hold Applications where height customization can greatly decrease shipping costs Return ratio in pallet package applications can be 3:1 which reduces return freight costs Custom Dunnage for Grille 9

Return/Clean/Reuse Use a cleaner with a surfactant, such as Formula 409 by Clorox EPP is a closed cell product, so it will not absorb any liquid into the cellular structure, but any surface imperfections can trap dirt, etc., so it is important to use a cleaner with a surfactant, which will help loosen up any surface dirt. Do NOT use any abrasive cleaners, solvents, or cleaners with wax/petroleum that will leave a residue. Spray totes/dunnage with Formula 409 until damp and wipe clean using a sponge or soft brush Do NOT use an abrasive tool/brush Rinse with warm or cold water We don t recommend high pressure power-washing (>100 psi) It is acceptable to use a standard city water pressure (<60 psi) hose
