GEA at a Glance DÜSSELDORF, JULY 2016

GEA in Summary (1/2) GEA is a global leader in equipment and process technology providing innovative solutions for smart food processing and for a more efficient use of energy resources. Dairy Farming Dairy Processing Food Beverages Revenue EUR 4.6bn (FY15) Operating EBIT-Margin 11.7% (FY15) Employees > 17,000 (Mar16) Market Cap EUR 8.3bn (Mar16) 2

GEA in Summary (2/2) You are in touch with food processed by GEA equipment every day Around one quarter of the milk processes is handled by GEA equipment. Approx. one in three instant coffee lines has been built by GEA. Every third chicken nugget is processed with GEA equipment.. we are all this and more every day! 3

Vision GEA provides the world with innovative solutions for smart food processing and for a more efficient use of energy resources. GEA is a global engineering group recognized for its excellent technologies, its dedication to provide best solutions to its customers, and its management principles. 4

Growth Drivers: Food and Energy Megatrend Significance for demand Demand relevant for GEA Continuously rising demand for processed food and pharmaceuticals Processed foods/ready meals Enriched lifestyle drinks and food Pharmaceutical Urbanization/ expansion of middle class Willingness to pay for process safety Rising standards of hygiene aseptic processes Growing concern about food safety and quality Rising energy costs/ environmental regulations Growing interest in efficient production processes that conserve resources Resource-conserving technologies Energy-saving machines and processes/heat recovery Intelligent engineering solutions 5

Application-specific Solutions to meet your Needs Utilities Food Leisure & Sport Dairy Processing Marine Dairy Farming Chemical Beverages Pharma Land-based Transportation 6

Main Applications: Food & Beverages Examples of products and technologies Spiral Cookers Valves Freezing Systems Milk Production Spray Dryers Food Packaging Equipment Separators heat cool/freeze separate dry/dewater distill pump dose agglomerate prepare marinate process slice package 7

Process-integrated Product Groups Automation & Control Systems Bakery Lines Beverage Plants Brewery Plants Cleaners & Sterilizers Distillation & Fermentation Systems Dryers & Particle Processing Plants Emission Control Systems Evaporators & Crystallizers Filling & Packaging Systems Flow Components Food Processing & Packaging Homogenization Solutions & Systems Liquid Food Systems Liquid Processing Systems Membrane Filtration Systems Pharmaceutical Systems Product Handling Systems Refrigeration Solutions & Systems Separation Solutions & Systems Systems for Milk Production and Livestock Farming Vacuum Systems 8

Efficient Innovation High-tech made by GEA (1/3) GEA S-Tec Spiral Proofer High Volume Bakery Applications Innovating the air distribution system by adding ultrasonic air humidifiers and accurate temperature control, GEA has complemented its S-Tec range for large industrial bakeries with a spiral proofer bringing together high hygienic design and an optimum proofing process for best product quality In the proofer the bread or morning goods dough spends enough time at a controlled temperature and humidity to produce the raising agents required for baking GEA Milking Stall Module Automatic Milking Fully automated milking stall module designed for use in milking robots and rotary parlors Versatile modular plug-in technology allows fast installation and best serviceability Allows more efficient and flexible labor utilization along with consistent milking routines Includes advanced cow health detection at low overall running costs Enables fully automated milking of 60 to 3,000 cows in one milking system 9

Efficient Innovation High-tech made by GEA (2/3) GEA IceCon Freeze Concentration Completely continuous operation reduces intermediate cleaning and brings the advantages of freeze concentration to an industrial level By partial freezing of water, freeze concentration yields concentrates of fruit juice, coffee, milk, beer, etc. with superior quality as compared to e.g. vacuum distillation, at low total cost while taking up half the floor space 3D Printing Technology Demanding Slicing Applications Via 3D printing technology, of which GEA makes use for manufacturing processes, successive layers of material are superposed in a defined geometry under computer control resulting in complex shapes, e.g.: Devices with curved channels in the inside using airflow for smooth folding of sliced sausage/cheese during portioning Interleaver unit bending the piece of paper/film to increase the tension and therefore its mechanical strength benefitting in the usage of thinner paper/film quality directly resulting in cost savings. Another plus: various designs of cross sections (cutaways) can be realized. 10

Efficient Innovation High-tech made by GEA (3/3) Super High Yield Extraction Instant Coffee Maximizing instant coffee yield by up to 70% as a result of comprehensive research in the field of coffee extraction Extraction process offers higher flavor quality resulting in enhanced taste of the instant coffee 3-stage-process using enzymes to breakdown and solubilize more of the ground coffee Better utilization of the coffee beans has a major impact on instant coffee production profitability Filter in Tank System Integrated Rotating Ceramic Filter System Increases production yield by up to 30% at low energy consumption and minimized space requirement Integrating a rotating ceramic filter system into a holding tank or biochemical reactor Simplifies customers production processes by continuous separation at low filtration pressure which improves transmission of the valuable substances Reducing several unit operations into a single one 11

Sustainability is a Matter of Course GEA is acutely aware of its economic, social and environmental responsibilities. Therefore, GEA commits itself to a clear corporate policy in terms health, safety & environment preventing environmental pollution and reducing energy consumption, waste and emissions helping its customers protect the environment by providing efficient products and process solutions offering solutions that ensure environmental protection while delivering substantial benefits to society and a high level of economic efficiency checking energy consumption and emission levels during production for potential improvements in efficiency improving the general well-being of its employees 12

Customer-oriented Group Structure GEA bundles the development and manufacturing of products and the provision of process solutions into the two Business Areas: Equipment and Solutions. Sales and Service activities are combined on a local level in one organization per country. 13
