1 CCE Applicatin Guidelines General This dcument cntains infrmatin n hw t cmplete and submit yur CCE applicatin. If yu have any questins, please cntact Susan McGuire at smcguire@acce.rg. Tips befre yu begin: We recmmend that yu pen and save a blank cpy f the CCE applicatin t yur wn cmputer, and then wrk frm that as yu fill ut and cmplete the applicatin. If yu wrk n the applicatin n-line, changes may nt be saved. The applicatin frm autmatically calculates all pints at the end. Type all infrmatin int the shaded bxes. It will expand as yu type. D nt press the ENTER key after typing yur infrmatin int the shaded bxes. Yu must press the TAB key t cntinue. Sme parts f this applicatin require a numerical answer. Alpha characters will nt be accepted in thse sectins. T change yur answers, press the arrw key (in the directin that yu wish t mve) then press the backspace key t delete the answer. Yu can als click n the edit functin in yur tlbar, and then click n Und Typing t delete yur answer. When yu cmplete the applicatin, please save it with yur name and the wrd applicatin, e.g., McGuireapplicatin.pdf. Cmpleting yur applicatin Yu must recrd a minimum f 175 pints in rder t be eligible fr the CCE designatin. Sectin 1: Chamber Career In this sectin yu shuld list the jbs that yu have had in the chamber industry. Each psitin must be listed in rder starting with yur mst recent chamber psitin. There are n pints assigned t this Nte that this sectin des nt cunt as yur resume. Yu must submit yur prfessinal resume as part f this applicatin as well. 1

2 Sectin 2: Educatin (46 Pints Maximum) This prtin f the applicatin asks fr yur educatinal backgrund. List all f yur educatinal histry. If yu received bth an Assciate and Bachelr s degrees, yu may include nly the pints relating t yur Bachelr s degree. Yu may als add pints assciated with any graduate degree r ther business curses relating t chamber management. Cmbinatins that are permitted: ~ Graduate Degree, Undergraduate Degree, Related Business Curses = 46 pints ~ Undergraduate Degree, Related Business Curses = 36 pints ~ Assciates Degree, Related Business Curses = 16 pints Sectin 3: Prfessinal Develpment (102 Pints Maximum) A current histry f yur participatin in prfessinal develpment activities spnsred by ACCE can be fund by lgging int acce.rg, n the upper right hand side f each website page. Then click n Menu n the right hand side f the page, My Accunt, My Membership, and My ACCE Activity. The infrmatin listed will help yu determine hw many CCE pints yu have earned thrugh ACCE prgrams. Nn-ACCE prfessinal develpment prgrams als eligible fr CCE credit. On the CCE Applicatin, please select an ptin frm the drpdwn bx f Natinal Chamber Management Cnferences/Seminars. Each cnference is wrth 5 pints, nt t exceed the 30 pints maximum pints available fr this Please list yur State/Reginal Chamber Cnferences/Seminars. Each cnference is wrth 3 pints, nt t exceed the 12 pints maximum available fr this Yu may include pints attributable t tw additinal specific types f ACCE prfessinal develpment prgramming indicated in the drpdwn menu. Each prgram is wrth 5 pints, nt t exceed 10 pints. Participants f the "ld" 6-year Institute fr Organizatinal Management prgram earn 5 pints per year/30 pints maximum. Participants in the newer fur-year prgram earn 7 pints fr every year cmpleted/28 pints maximum. A maximum f 30 pints are available fr this 2

Authr f a chamber r an assciatin management article. List articles published fr chamber/assciatin management publicatins, including ACCE s Chamber Executive. Each article is wrth 5 pints, nt t exceed 15 pints fr this ~ Articles that are a result f yur jb respnsibilities (fr example, an article fr yur chamber s newsletter) will nt be accepted. Yu may receive pints fr a newsletter article fr ASAE r anther assciatin. ~ Articles must be n tpics related t chamber management. Sectin 5: Prfessinal and Civic Leadership (125 Pints Maximum) Yu may accrue pints fr each year yu serve in a particular bard (r fficer) psitin. Please prvide the year(s) served where indicated in the applicatin. D nt duplicate pints. Fr example, if yu serve as an fficer n a bard during a particular year, yu cannt accrue pints as a member f that same bard that year. The pints alltted fr this sectin are included in the drpdwn menu. If yu have had ther leadership experience (prfessinal r civic) that was difficult t categrize, please describe it in the bx lcated at the end f this The bx will expand as needed. Sectin 6: Prfessinal and Civic Awards/Certificatins (16 Pints Maximum) Awards: List yur awards received frm business and cmmunity grups fr wrk during yur tenure as a chamber executive. 3 pints each/6 pints maximum. Certificatins: Please select an ptin frm the drpdwn list f prfessinal certificatins. 3

4 ~ Please nte that the United States Chamber f Cmmerce Accreditatin (IOM) designatin shuld nt be included in this (Please include yur experience at the Institute fr Organizatin Management in Sectin 3 abve). ~ Only list awards and certificatins that yu have persnally earned, nt nes earned by yur chamber. Sectin 7: References Yu must list five references. Please list references whm yu knw well. Yur references must fall in these three categries. One must be a CCE, preferably in the candidate s state. Tw must be cmmunity leaders. Tw must be vlunteer chairpersns/presidents wh have served within the last fur years. Please fill all the bxes in this table. The reference check is intended t assure that applicants are highly regarded by the chambers and cmmunities they serve. References will nly be ntified that the applicant plans t pursue the designatin within a three-year perid. They will nt be infrmed f the examinatin date r final results. Sectin 8: Dcumentatin Please submit the dcumentatin listed in this sectin f the CCE applicatin alng with yur applicatin. Save each f these dcuments in pdf frmat with a title beginning with yur last name and a recgnizable name f the dcument, e.g., McGuirestrategicplan1.pdf r McGuirestrategicplan2.pdf. We prefer that all dcumentatin relate t yur current chamber. Hwever, if it wuld mre apprpriately demnstrate yur prfessinal skills and experience t submit dcumentatin frm yur frmer chamber, please cntact Susan McGuire t discuss and btain apprval. N frmal cver letter fr yur applicatin is required. Hwever, if yu refer t a required dcument by a different name (fr instance, if yu call yur business plan by anther name), r if mre detailed instructins n hw t interpret r understand yur applicatin package wuld be helpful, please include a memrandum r ther shrt set f instructins t assist ACCE staff and the CCE Cmmissin in understanding yur applicatin. The title f this dcument shuld begin with yur last name. Submitting yur applicatin All applicatin entries, including each supprting dcument, must be upladed using this link by January 9, The applicatin submissin link can als be fund n ACCE s CCE website page (lcated at 4

5 As nted abve, the applicatin and each supprting dcument shuld be saved as a pdf file titled with yur last name and the name f the dcument. Fr example, McGuireapplicatin.pdf r McGuireresume.pdf. Entry fee payment must be submitted by either credit card r check by using the CCE Applicatin Payment frm, which can be fund n the CCE website page ( If paying by credit card, please uplad the applicatin payment frm, including the required credit card infrmatin, alng with the ther applicatin materials. If yu are paying by check, please uplad the applicatin payment frm indicating that yu will pay fr the applicatin by check, and then send the check t the address listed in the applicatin payment frm. All applicants will receive a cnfirmatin within 24 hurs after their applicatins have been received. If yu d nt receive a cnfirmatin , please cntact Susan McGuire as sn as pssible.
