1 Top technology and productivity for injection mouldin g large containers The HAIDLMAIR GmbH, a leading company for the injectionn mouldingg technology for logistics and disposal containers has commissioned new productionp n capacities for extra large parts and the assembly of extra large injection moulds. Thus, the mould making options cover the entire size range from the slip box to largee waste bins with a mould weight up to 120 tons. These new capabilities are the focus of the company presentation in Halll 12 / Booth E The characteristic feature of all HAIDLMAIR injection moulds has matured in more than 1200 realized container mould projects. Its general advantages are the compact size, combined with maximum stability. The compactness results from a mould design with an innovative power distribution within the mould system. Central principle is the indentation of the container exterior through a 4-sidecore system with the separation lines along the container corners. The outer side cores are located on the fixed mould side and are locked within the t mould assembly on both sides in a taperedd holding frame with wedge-shaped cross-section, where they are simultaneously centered and fixed. With that system a high percentage of the lateral pressure appliedd on the side cores is transmitted to the adjacent mould structure. That mould constructionn consists off a minimumm of platens and components and allows for a minimum shut height and cross section. (Fig.1). An additional advantageous of the mould concept is that the larger proportion p byy weight, i.e. injection runner and the side core system are on the fixed mould side. Thus, only o the lighter core side needs to be moved by the machine, requiring less drivee power and the energyy compared to conventional mould concepts with heavier moving halves. A side effect of the HAIDLMAIRR mould concept is the totally free accessibility of the core side for a handling system resulting in an easy parts removal. All the advantages mentioned above apply for the full range of container moulds from the slip box to the large volume waste containers.

2 HAIDLMAIR moulds in production on the stands of machinee manufacturers At K 2013 HAIDLMAIR injection moulds will bee demonstrated in real time production at the stands of two injection moulding machine manufacturers. Design object moulded by Engel The machine manufacturer Engel in Hall 15 / B 42 presents the result of a development project. It is the "S + Smart Cube", a special container.. The product design and the production equipment had been developed under the project management by HAIDLMAIR in cooperation with the raw material producer Borealis, the measurement technology company HDEMC, the hot runner manufacturer PSG and the in-mold label manufacturers Viappianii and last but not least by b the injection moulding machine manufacturer Engel. The design object features large label areas on all a four sides, surrounded by a space frame structure in paper crease. (Fig.2). Additionally to the 4-side label application, the gas- injection technique is applied to compensate shrinkage and thus to increase the e precision in upper body structure. That is achieved through eightt specifically incorporated hollow local areas along the upper container rim with the four gripping areas. Superiorr is also the demouldingg system: The exterior surfaces, following the usual HAIDLMAIR container system, are demoulded by four short-stroke side cores, the handholds, and the core side with the paper structure surfaces through a complex multi- moulding. The type of injection moulding machine used is an Engel e-duo e 5440/ /700 (with 700 tons slide system. Overall, the cooperation project demonstrates the current state of the art in container clamping force). Hockey sticks at Wittmann Battenfeld The second demonstration of a HAIDLMAIR mould will take place at Wittmann-Battenfeld in Hall 16 / D 22. On a Battenfeld HM 300/22500 ServoPower the production of a hockey-racket from glass fiber reinforced PP will be demonstrated. Also with this production example, the Haidlmair gas injection technology is the main feature as thee 120 cm long handle off the hockeyy stick is a lightweight hollow profile. 3 About HAIDLMAIR: HAIDLMAIR GmbH The HAIDLMAIR GmbH, founded in 1979, is the parent company in a groupp of companies consisting currently of 7 companies with 500 employees, generating sales of around EUR 65 million. The core business of the t parent plant in Nussbach/Upper Austria is the production of injection moulds with a focus on the full range of containers - from the crate to the pallet, supplemented by large moulds for pallets. The companies Mould & Matic Solutions GmbH and EMO Extrusion Molding GmbH, both in Micheldorf and HTM Kft. / Szekesksfehervar, Hungary are focussed f on moulds for thermoformingg an injectionn moulding for medical & packaging parts as well as automation solutions and extrusion dies for the production p off films and sheets. Three other companies in the group are service providerss for the mould maintenance and component manufacturing. The innovative design concept focuses the higher weight on the fixed side of the machine (to the right). As a result, less driving power is required by the injection moulding machine, and thus less energy.
