1 1 P a g e EQUIPMENT GUIDE Springate Shipping and Logistics Ltd is happy to introduce customers to a range of Bureau Veritas ISO standard container and cargo handling units. We have access to a mixed container fleet catering for food grade, reefer, hazardous, high cube and all your standard shipping requirements. ADVICE ON SHIPPING A CONTAINER Containers come in several types, lengths and heights. Select the correct container for the right cargo. Temperatures can increase inside the container e.g. a tropical climate can produce temperatures of 50+ degrees, causing condensation inside the unit. Check over the container to ensure it is in sound condition and always look at all external notices/labels before opening the container. The more goods you can fit into a container the lower the unit price. It is prudent to draw up a packing plan to maximize the fill factor. Remember the less free space in the container means less risk of cargo shifting. Shifting cargo and uneven weight distribution are one of the most common causes of cargo damage. Secure content of container properly. Appropriate packing should be used to protect your investments. Always record the date and the seal number and keep these records safe. Containers are rated to carry different cargo weight. Ensure to declare weight at time of booking. Food Grade Containers We provide professional care for food grade containers dedicated to the specific requirements of the food industry. We practice a high standard inspection procedure in the selection of food grade containers to avoid contaminations and damage to goods.
