Get reading is the conductivity value of the tested solution Press < UNIT > key to obtain the related value of TDS or salinity Important Notes: There are four kinds of calibration solution for this type of meter: 84μS/cm, 1413 μs/cm, ms/cm and ms/cm. 1 point calibration is one of the unique features of this meter. The linear range of the meter can reach up to 100 ms/cm only with one-point calibration. The conductivity value of calibration solution selected should be as close as possible to that of the tested solution. The most common used calibration solution is 1413μS/cm. See table (4-1) for your reference. Chart (4-1) Range 0.1μS/cm~20μS/cm 20μS/cm ~ 100mS/cm 100mS/cm~200mS/cm Electrode Constant Standard Solution Calibration incon K=0.1cm -1 K=1.0cm -1 K=1.0cm -1 84μS/cm 1413μS//cm 12.88mS/cm ms/cm Notes: For high pure water (conductivity<1.0 μs/cm), flow cell should be used for test The factory default temperature compensation coefficient of the meter is 1.9%/. As the conductivity temperature coefficient will vary with the kind and concentration of the solution, user can refer to chart (4-2), as well as the data obtained in lab experiments to do parameter setting in P2. Notes: If the temperature coefficient is set to 0, that means test is conducted with no temperature compensation and the conductivity value obtained is based on the temperature at the time of testing. 14 4.6. Notes: The conductivity electrode has been calibrated when the product is ex-work. Generally, user can use it directly Normally, it is recommended to calibrate the conductivity electrode once every month. For high-accuracy measuring, the electrode must be calibrated in time. It is necessary to calibrate the newly purchased conductivity electrode, as well as those that have been used for a period of time Keep the conductivity electrode clean. Wash it with pure water and allow it to dry before and after testing. It would be better to rinse electrodes with sample solution when measuring; Electrode storage method: please add some pure water in the protection cap of the electrode and replace it in time after polluted The surface of the conductivity electrode Model 2301-M is plated with a layer of platinum (black) in order to lower the electrode polarization and increase the measuring range. Do not polish the black platinum surface; clean it by stirring in pure water. If excessive organic buildup appears on the black platinum coating, clean with lukewarm water containing detergent or with alcohol If the electrode plated with platinum black is invalid, immerse it in 10% nitric acid solution or 10% hydrochloric acid solution for 2 minutes, then rinse the electrode in pure water. If the electrode still does not work, replace with a new conductivity electrode When the conductivity electrode is found abnormal in calibrating or displaying, please set the mode P8 to be On to restore to factory setting state, and then calibrate and measure; Please do not unplug the power when the meter is working. Only unplug the power adapter when the meter is turned off. 5. R232 Communication 13
