2 PURPOSE OF POSITION The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation transportation warehousing and distribution of goods and services to target area in accordance with WVZ standards. To monitor the receipt of reports/documentation on the status and disposition of goods from point of origin to end use. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Develop response logistics plans, budget requirements in collaboration with the Response Manager for effective movement goods and services. Ensure that all goods, work and services are received, distributed and recorded as per the established WV receipt guidelines. Ensure that all logistical supplies are tracked and auditable Coordinate preparation and approval of the distribution plans based on the updated beneficiary figures. Track, coordinate and manage all receipts of the goods received from source to end user. Liaise with transporters on day-to-day bases that the daily transport requirement for the transportations of food and non-food items is adequately handled. Oversight management of all the commodity/goods warehouses as per donor and WV standards. Page 2/5

3 Produce cost projections for transporters and warehouse services on monthly basis Assist with quality assurance that the goods and or services are meeting the specified quality standard. Issue goods received notes for all receipts to include any over, short or damages Communicate any receipt discrepancies to Response Manager with back up pictures and written documentation Ensure Safety and compliance in the movement of the Food and Non Food items. Support or manage logistics projects or operational activities following standard processes and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery of assistance to beneficiaries; Checking document loading and discharging operations and contracting of applicable transport, warehouse and any relevant logistics services; Collate data and produce accurate weekly reports on the logistics activities that enables informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders Identify and build productive relationships with logistics colleagues and staff within the area of assignment to support an integrated approach to distribution of commodities

4 Determine vehicle requirements (including security and communications requirements) and allocations to response functions and pool with Operations, RM and Finance Procure and/or rent vehicles that provide effective and safe transportation Coordinate with Administration and Finance to develop and agree contract and MoUs with suppliers and access specialist legal support where necessary Determine response warehousing requirements with Response Manager and source cost effective and safe warehousing / storage that meets international standards Ensure all warehousing equipment is in place and meets FPMG standards Install and implement warehouse inventory and administration systems including SOPs that effectively track and monitor stock and ensure adherence to internal controls Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Purchasing & Supply or Social Sciences together with Professional/Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supplies Management C.I.P.S or equivalent. At least three years experience in logistics, procurement and warehousing. A strategic thinker with strategy and procurement experience.
