3 Code Enforcement - $1,007,600 Program responsible for enforcement of city ordinances and state statutes regarding property maintenance standards. Also provides the oversight of the Code Enforcement Authority and Special Magistrate. Investing in Neighborhoods Coordinate with other city department on code issues Process code cases through the Code Enforcement Authority Cut and clean non-compliant overgrown properties Provide proactive patrol through the Gateway Watch Program Monitor collection activity of the commercial solid waste franchisees Provide code sweeps for Mayor s Neighborhood Cleanup events

4 Code Enforcement (continued) Promoting a Healthy Environment Enforce ordinances related to property conditions, zoning and sanitation Conduct Magistrate ordered abatements on nuisance properties Provide citizens information on awareness of storm water violations Assist in gaining compliance with sanitation services ordinance Investigate illegal dumping and facilitate removal of the debris Review special event application for adequate cleanup provisions Restoring Trust and Taking Action Handle citizen complaints on the same day they are received Provide anonymity to citizens filing complaints when requested Meet with neighborhood association leaders to address issues of concern Improve and expedite the enforcement process Assist in development of new ordinances when needed Research processes and procedures used in other jurisdictions Assist other city departments in enforcement of ordinances and statutes

Also cites occupied residences that don t have the required sanitation service. Investing in Neighborhoods Pursue compliance with the International Property Maintenance Code Coordinate efforts of other city departments to address the IPMC Promoting a Healthy Environment Enforcement of the sanitation collection ordinance Investigate minimum housing standard concerns for citizens Restoring Trust and Taking Action Handle citizen complaints on the same day they are received Assist other departments with enforcement of city ordinances

9 Transfer Station - $349,600 Program responsible for providing transfer station services for the yard trash, bulk waste and recycling operations. Investing in Neighborhoods Provide support for the Mayor s Neighborhood Cleanup Program Provide increased efficiency for the collection crews thru transport services Promoting a Healthy Environment Operate the transfer station in compliance with DEP regulations

10 Yard Trash/Bulk Waste Collection - $1,602,500 Program responsible for providing yard trash and bulk waste collection to city residents. Also provides collection resources for the monthly Mayor s Neighborhood Cleanup events. Investing in Neighborhoods Provide regular and convenient yard trash services to city residents Provide scheduled and non-scheduled bulk waste services Provide collection crews for the Mayor s Neighborhood Cleanup events Promoting a Healthy Environment Provide cost effective collection services to city residents Provide special collection of bulky waste Provide resources to collect illegally dumped debris
