SPL correct picking, without fail! Whether on assembly lines or for picking, reaching into the wrong bin of the small item shelf and picking the wrong component or item can have unpleasant consequences, such as customer complaints, rework or exchange. The new Pick-to-Light grid from SICK guarantees optimum quality assurance and quality improvement to ensure correct picking, without fail! Pick-to-Light is the first assembly- and operator-friendly light grid, the ergonomic and economical solution for access control and picking control on small item shelves. The green job LED indicates the correct picking bin to the operator and optically confirms that the correct picking has taken place. The red LED lights in the case of picking errors. This means no mixed-up components, no missing parts, no rework, but instead process reliability and quality. Trust is good. SPL is better! 2 industrial sensors Sick

Access monitoring by light grid Part picking supported by light indicator, a description of the Pick-to-Light process in which a person takes parts from a defined shelf bay by LED indication. Optimum access: The sender/receiver housing in Slim/ Flat design allows the picker unrestricted access to the parts box, from any position. It does not matter whether the slim or flat was fitted. The green job-led (45 version) is easily visible in both cases. Thus, the Pick-to-Light grid is the flexible concept for quality assur ance, optimising operations and saving time. Focussing on costs: Quick and cost-effective installation through optical synchronisation. Reliable: No mutual interference, thanks to coded frequencies. Sick industrial sensors 3

Display, testing and feedback. The Pick-to-Light grid offers all functions to avoid mistakes when manually picking parts from a shelf. It is suitable for designing individual solutions for access control, as any number of units can be combined. Different monitoring heights or access openings can be controlled. Mechanical assembly is extremely easy. Existing shelves can be easily retrofitted, as the system concept minimises space requirements and installation effort. Pick-to-Light The innovative solution for bin control on assembly and picking lines. Reliable picking and fast access are guaranteed! 4 industrial sensors Sick

Versatile, modular and retrofittable slim and Flat Small size and the Slim and Flat principle open up entirely new applications. The SPL light grids can be integrated into your application, both Slim and Flat. You choose! short and long The Pick-to-Light grids are available in three different detection height options, always meeting your individual requirements! teach-in Flexible range adjustment using the Teach-in button could not be easier. Job led The green 360 job LED shows the picking bin to the operator and optically confirms correct picking. Thus, reaching into the wrong bin and picking the wrong component are things of the past! click and go The SPL light grids can be quickly commissioned, thanks to the easy Click and Go assembly concept with alignment aid. A specially developed multiconnector also allows easy linking of several SPL light grids into a larger unit. It s that easy! sick industrial sensors 5

Mistakes? Wrong! Frequently, several thousands of correct picks from the small parts crates and mesh crates must be ensured every day. Pick-to-Light helps avoid incorrect fitting, i.e. the transposition of component variants during picking. Quality assurance and quality improvement assured! 6 industrial sensors Sick

the individual solution As an innovative company, we constantly strive to do better, and our innovations always reflect market needs. The result: the SAS light grids which leave no questions unanswered. The SLG light grid series also offers the SGS light grids for door and gate monitoring, as well as the SPL light grids for safe access to small item shelves. spl spl Pick-to-light grid Monitoring length mm max Resolution 40 mm Max. range: 2 metres Light sender: infrared Response time: < 20 ms housing material: PMMA cross-section: < 25 x 8 mm 2, Slim, Flat supply: 24 V DC ± 20 %, filtered, reverse polarity protected operating temperature C optional: Special options available Protection type: IP 65 sick industrial sensors 7
