However, being involved in it will help you to become a better person and a finer citizen. Task 1: Project on Money & Credit Money, says the proverb, makes money. When you have a little, it is often easy to get more. The great difficulty is to get that little. Adam Smith Content coverage: Case study on the operations of a Bank in your vicinity. Learning objective: Students will analyse the different ways through which a Bank is the formal repository of money and the source of credit. Execution of task: Plan a visit to a Bank of your choice. Research and Prepare a Case study based on the following guidelines: In your Case study highlight the following: TAGORE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL EAST OF KAILASH, NEW DELHI Introduction to how a Bank functions. People who help us in a Bank. How is your money safe in a Bank? Role of RBI as a monitoring authority. Types of banking documents. How do you open a Bank Account? The difference between a savings account and a current account. How can you manage your Savings. How to get a student loan for higher studies. 1

2 Take advise on how you can start saving early with your pocket money. Research the rates of interest. English The common man has to bear the brunt of government policies, be it demonetization, introduction of GST or rising prices. These factors coupled with increasing black money scandals coming to light have made the rich richer and poor poorer. As a concerned citizen, write a letter to the editor highlighting the plight of common man and also suggest measures that can be implemented to ensure that the interests of the general public are safeguarded. Maths Attempt the following questions: Q1. Aman took a loan of ` 80,000 from a bank. If the rate of interest is 10% per annum, find the difference in amounts 1 he would be paying after 1 years, if the interest is compounded: 2 a) Annually b) Half yearly. Q2. Maria invested ` 8000 in a business. She would be paid interest at 5% compounded annually. Find: a) The amount credited against her name at the end of second year. b) The interest for the third year. Q3. What amount is to be repaid on a loan of ` for half yearly years at 10% per annum compounded Q4. Akash has a saving bank account in a bank that pays him interest at 5% per annum, which is Compounded every June and December. His passbook entries are as follows: Date Particulars Withdrawal(` ) Deposits(` ) Balance(` ) Feb 3,1981 By cash Feb 7 To cheque no Feb 11 By cheque , March 1 By salary , , March 4 To withdrawal slip 1, , March 31 To Urmil , April 1 By salary , , April 2 To Sri Ram 1, , May 1 By salary , , May 3 To accountant 2, , a) Calculate the interest due at the end of June. b) Find the balance on July 1, if he deposits a cash of ` 100 on July 1,which is also entered immediately. Task 4: SCIENCE An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Benjamin Franklin 1.Keywords are words or concepts of significance that can be used as a reference point for finding other words or information.
