Base 2010 July Provisional data The monthly variation of turnover 1 for the Market Services Sector is -0.6%, after adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects The annual rate stands at 4.7% in the series adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, and at 4.8% in the original series Monthly evolution of the turnover for the Market Services Sector After adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects, the monthly variation of the turnover general index for the Market Services Sector between July and June was -0.6%. This rate was eight tenths lower than that registered in June. 1 As reflected in the methodology of this value index, the information is presented in current terms (nominal terms), this is, without adjusting the effects in the price variation thereof. 2 After adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects, Trade decreased by 0.8% while Other services did so by 0.3%. All sectors registered negative rates, excluding Information and communication (0.9% Accommodation ( 1.4%) and Scientific and technical activities ( 1.2%) registered the greatest decreases. In a more detailed analysis, the branches of activity that registered the highest monthly rates and those with the highest decreases in the month of July can be seen. 3 Annual evolution of the turnover index for the Market Services Sector The general index of the turnover for the Market Services Sector, after adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects, showed a variation of 4.7% in July when compared to the same month of This rate is 1.7 points lower than that observed in June. The original series presented an annual variation of 4.8%, which is 2.1 points below the one registered in June. After adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects, Trade increased by 4.1% and Other Services by 5.7% as compared to July All sectors registered positive annual rates. Sale and repair of vehicles and motorcycles (8.0%) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (7.8%) increased the most. 4 Results by Autonomous Communities. Annual turnover variation rates. Original series All the Autonomous Communities increased their turnover for the Market Services Sector in July as compared to the same month of Comunidad Foral de Navarra (7.6%), Comunitat Valenciana (6.9%), and Castilla-La Mancha (6.8%) increased the most. In turn, Extremadura (1.3%), Andalucía (1.4%) and Castilla y León (1.8%) registered the greatest decreases. SSAI JULY 2017 (4/9)

5 Evolution of employment Employment in the Market Services Sector increased by 2.7% in July compared to the same month of the previous year. This rate is one tenth lower than that registered in June. The annual employment rate increased by 2.2% in Trade and by 2.9% in Other services.
