Employer and employees are to ensure all material is labelled appropriately and that labels are correct and legible. Supplier Label or Work Site Label: A hazardous product or its container at a work site must have a label on it. or Supplier Label Worksite Label
5 Supplier Label Requirements If a supplier label is not attached to a hazardous product, Pronghorn Controls employees are not to use the material until the supplier provides an SDS and a Supplier Label. A Supplier Label must appear on all hazardous products received at Pronghorn Controls and contain the following information: 1. Product identifier - name of product; 2. Supplier identifier - name of manufacturer; 3. A statement that an SDS is available; 4. Hazard symbols the pictures of the classification(s); 5. Risk phrases - words that describe the main hazards of the product; 6. Precautionary measures (How to work with the product safely), and first aid measures (What to do in an emergency). 7. 7 Safety Data Sheet (SDS) formerly MSDS SDS has (16) sections which provides detailed hazard and precautionary information on the hazardous products. SDS Access is on the company intranet Einstein accessible to all to handle and consult and is readily available at a work site (including mobile work sites.) Pronghorn Controls ensures that the most recent SDS for hazardous products is kept at the work site where the product is being used. SDS do not expire after 3 years.
8 Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Located on Einstein
9 GHS has a common set of rules for labels and standard form for Safety Data Sheets (SDS) formerly MSDS. All MSDS s will be replaced with SDS s which do not have a 3 year expiry.
