2 PORT OF KASKINEN The traffic at Port of Kaskinen grew rapidly in the decade due to heavy investments and good cooperation. Today, the diversity of the infrastructure makes handling of goods efficient and fast and provides excellent establishing and development possibilities for industry. We will continue to develop the port, taking future demands into account. A well planned port guarantees secure and cost efficient handling of goods for the customer. Landside and berth side functions are logically separated from each other. This ensures trouble-free handling of even large items between different transport modes, warehouses and vessels. Due to these arrangements we can easily handle goods exceeding tons a day and we take great pride in this! Good possibilities for Ro-Ro liner traffic, container terminals and handling of different kinds of goods. Smooth transports directly to the port by highways 8 and 67 and railroad. 4 PORT SERVICES Baltic Bulk Oy and affiliated companies operate in nine different ports, providing bulk material warehousing and transport services for bio fuel producers and -users and for food-, feed-, paper-, mining-, construction-, chemistry- and metal industry. Baltic Bulk Oy is specialized in transporting and warehousing of bulk-, general cargo-, and bagged goods. Stevedoring and ship clearance are also part of our operations. Kaskinen has the biggest terminal of Baltic Bulk Oy and can therefore provide warehousing for many different purposes and tailor made handling of goods according to the customer s needs. A new covered hopper-car discharging terminal and a large railway yard in the harbor enables reception of full train sets carrying fuel wood, wood chips, pellets, fertilizers and grain from Finland and Russia. Baltic Tank Oy is the largest independent terminal operator in Finland providing storage services for different kinds of bulk liquids, incl. bio fuels and hazardous chemicals. The terminal in Port of Kaskinen is our newest terminal where eg. caustic soda and hydrogen peroxide are stored. The storage capacity is presently m 3 with good expansion potentiability.
