CALCULATING THE PRICE Follow these simple steps to work out how much it will cost to send your shipment: PRICING EXAMPLE 1 Determine the actual weight of your shipment in kilograms. If your shipment is large and lightweight, you will also need to calculate the volumetric weight (as explained here). Whichever is the higher of the actual and volumetric weight will be used for the purpose of calculating the price. 2 We allocate each country or territory to one of eleven pricing zones. Look up the zone for your destination country (or origin country in the case of imports) by referring to the Country Zoning here. CALCULATING THE PRICE PRICING EXAMPLE Sometimes you may need to send a package that is lightweight but takes up a lot of space for example, a small but valuable item surrounded by lots of packaging. In this case you should check whether the volumetric weight of the package is greater than the actual weight, as the price you pay will always reflect the greater of the two, known as the chargeable weight. Height VOLUMETRIC WEIGHT FREQUENT USER DISCOUNT If you are sending a shipment containing a single package, calculate the volumetric weight by multiplying the length (cm) x height (cm) x width (cm), then dividing by 5,000. If you are sending a shipment that contains multiple packages, repeat this step for each package and add the results together to get the volumetric weight of the shipment. For Example Length Length x height x width (cm) 5,000 Width You re sending a package that weighs 8kg with dimensions of 40cm x 30cm x 50cm. The volumetric weight would be: 40 x 30 x 50 5,000 = 12kg

Equivalent to Incoterm DDP. Neutral Delivery (NDS) An optional delivery service, allowing the shipper or importer to maintain confidentiality over the declared value of the goods. The delivery facility ensures any shipment documentation that might reveal the value of the goods is removed before delivery Split Duty and Tax At Shipper's request, an administration charge for invoicing duties to the Shipper or third party, while taxes are invoiced to the Receiver or third party at destination. VAT cannot be billed to an entity in a third country. This process allows the Receiver to recover VAT on the value of imported goods. Packaging DHL offers three types of packaging services: Standard packaging that consists of DHL flyer bags and document envelopes. These items are provided free of charge. Premium packaging, including DHL cartons and boxes. These items are provided free of charge. Industry specific packaging designed for specialist shipping requirements. Shipment Preparation At Shipper's request, the preparation of a shipment / piece and of any non-customs related transportation documents at origin, on behalf of the Shipper or Payer, including customer requested pick & pack activities. In case no one is at the delivery address, DHL will reattempt delivery. Shipments in this service can t be re-routed, dropped in a post box or left with the neighbour. 49 7.0 Customs Services Pricing Guide United Kingdom 2018 CUSTOMS SERVICES 1 OPTIONAL SERVICES Service Fee Amount Disbursements At Receiver's request, the use of DHL's credit or cash to fund the clearance, duty and tax charges related to a shipment / piece, instead of the Receiver using his own bond or credit line. The customs process is accelerated with DHL making prompt payment of relevant charges, while the Receiver defers payment up to an agreed period. Clearance Authorisation The contacting by DHL of the designated ers who have specifically requested contact prior to customs clearance of the shipment / piece is initiated by DHL. Broker Notification At Customer's request, the preparation and delivery by DHL, or the making available of shipment / piece paperwork that is required by a third party Broker to complete customs clearance for the Receiver. Multi-Line Entry The clearance of a shipment / piece with multiple commodities or multiple origins for the same commodity. Fees apply when a shipment has more than 5 lines for entry, regardless of whether or not the entry is a consolidated formal entry containing multiple HAWBs (House Air Way Bills) for the same importer. Bonded Documents The paperwork necessary for DHL to transport from the point of entry to a location specified by the Receiver or er, under a Customs Bond status. Can arise also when the Receiver requests clearance at a second, preferred, terminal / facility. Post Clearance Modification The modification by DHL of value, commodity, country of manufacture, or terms of trade information after the import clearance process for a shipment / piece, to correct or elaborate on what was submitted previously to Customs. Per shipment 4.00 Lithium Batteries Section IB, II (PI965) CUSTOMS SERVICES The handling and transportation of shipments containing loose Lithium Ion Batteries compliant with the appropriate IATA Packing Instructions (PI965) on the DHL air network. Dangerous Goods Per shipment The handling and transportation of substances and commodities classified as Full Dangerous Goods either on the DHL air or road network or on commercial airlines. Comprises Full IATA Dangerous Goods to the limits of ADR (Accord Dangerous Routier) Limited Quantities (LQ). Per shipment Change of Billing At an account holder s request, a change in billing by crediting one invoice and the re-invoicing of the same amount to a different account number than the one marked on the Waybill. This charge isn t applied if DHL didn t follow the original billing instructions. Per invoice 9.00 SURCHARGES Address Correction A fixed surcharge is applied to any shipment that has an incorrect delivery address at the time of pickup and the delivery cannot be fulfilled after making efforts at the destination to determine the correct address. Per shipment 9.00 for international shipments 4.50 for domestic shipments Elevated Risk A surcharge to cover additional security measures for handling outbound and inbound shipments in countries that are subject to elevated risk due to continuous state of war, civil unrest or threats from terrorism. Data Entry A surcharge applies for each shipment consigned with non-electronic, paper based manual house waybills. Electronic shipping documentation incurs no additional charges. It s quick and easy you link your Nectar card with your DHL account and collect points every time you ship on your account. You can collect 1 Nectar point for every 1 you spend on shipping. Points can be spent on a wide range of products and brands, such as Eurostar, Pizza Express, ebay, Sainsbury s and many more. To confirm your eligibility and link your DHL Express account with your Nectar card you will need an activation code. You can obtain this from your Account Manager, or by ing and you will then need to complete this form. You will need an activation code for each DHL account that you have and you will need to complete the form for each account.
