3 Innovation VERMOP MopLog System with a future With the MopLog scanner system VERMOP is offering the modern method of documentation, administration and control of your cleaning textiles. In the contract cleaning business mop disappear on a daily basis. The tracking down of missing mop and the reordering of stocks is costly and time-consuming. This is especially true for service providers who use a large volume of cleaning textiles and for professional laundries. Additionally, there is the health risk involved in contact with contaminated mop during manual stock taking. VERMOP has ushered in a new era. With the RFID technology it is possible today to record each mop electronically, be it clean or dirty, sorted or unsorted, even in closed containers such as bags or boxes. Mop units can be assigned clearly to specific cleaning operatives or individual customers by the scanner. The VERMOP MopLog system ensures the traceability of each RFID prepared mop. This way you are able to determine exactly, for example on a daily basis, which cleaning operative was working in a specific premise and the number of mop used, or tell to which customer a specific delivery of mop went. This new dimension of administration results in higher efficiency in everyday work. 5 Technology With the two-component system, consisting of a scanner and transponder, the radio frequency identification (RFID) is generated. The wireless system enables 3-dimensional, touchless reading and recording of the mop at the push of a button. The reader recognises the transponder ( Tag ) via antennas and can read its data. The data set consists of a globally unique16-digit number. This way each mop with a Tag has a definite allocation. On the basis of this allocation you can document the whereabouts of your mop at any time with the scanning process. 6 Application areas Review of the MopLog System Macro-Cosmos The data collected by the scanner is transmitted via an Internet connection and saved on the central MopLog server. From here, with the help of his personal access data, each individual customer can trace the location of his mop from 2 3 his on-line PC. 7 Micro-Cosmos The scanner offers many application possibilities within an organization. For example in a hospital with its in-house laundry. Every day, a large quantity of mop and cleaning cloths are used in hospitals. Organizing the logistics is a challenge for you as the responsible hygiene specialist. You can monitor your own in-house processes in a simply way with the MopLog system. All clean textiles equipped with the VERMOP Tag are recorded by the scanner when leaving the laundry, allocated to a site or cleaning operative and then issued correspondingly. At the end of the cleaning cycle they are scanned again and assigned to the laundry. All scanner data is sent to an external server and stored there. Via internet, you can access the data directly from your PC. This way you can check at any time from your office how many mop are in which location on your premises. 8 Quality Management QM Processes The MopLog system offers optimum support for your quality management processes, especially in the health care area. In the sensitive area of laundry preparation, MopLog electronically records the quantity and type of textiles. The recorded quantity allows you to determine the number of machines loads necessary. By comparing the number of machine loads necessary with the washing cycles counted by the washing machine you are able to document that the prescribed machine filling weight has been adhered to. The quality of your processes and the adherence to guide lines (e.g. RKI) are manageable for you. In addition, with MopLog you can prove to your customers that you are using an adequate number of mops in their premises. Using the wash count mechanism, the MopLog system determines the average age of your stock of mop. 9 Example of a mop cycle After cleaning of the premises, the textiles are scanned and logged by the MopLog system, booked out of the site and into the laundry. This takes place at about 12 o clock. Thanks to the MopLog System, it is possible to check whether all textiles from the site have been returned. In the laundry the number of scanned textiles goes into the washing process at 12:15. The first drying cycle can then begin at around 13:15. After their return from the laundry at 14:00 the clean mop / cloths are back in storage, ready for a new application. At 6:00 AM the next morning the textile units can be assigned again to the site or to the appropriate cleaning personnel. So it is possible to clearly record exactly how many textiles were received by a specific site or cleaning operative. The cycle starts again. 9

10 MopLog Scanner Art.-Nr The scanner has been designed for all types of laundry bags, moboxxes and storage boxes. Operation is quick and simple: for example, place between 100 and 200 cleaning textiles in a bag into the scanner opening. The scanning process is started via the display. The cleaning textiles are recorded after ca. 30 seconds and can be assigned to the respective target location or to a person. The data is recorded on the central server and is available for call-up at any time. 11 VERMOP Mobile Scanner Art.-Nr The mobile manual scanner supplements the scanner. It enables a quick, mobile and location-independent registration of individual VERMOP Tags, for example, when delivering customized textile units to sites. The manual scanner registers the site tag on location (e.g. on a door frame or a locker) as well as the tag in the textile unit and marries those dates. Later, this data is transferred to the data base and the entire textile unit allocated to the site. The manual scanner registers, collects and saves the recorded data. After delivery, the manual scanner is attached to the large scanner by means of the docking station. The data on the manual scanner is automatically downloaded and transferred to the data base. 12 The VERMOP Tag in the mop or in the cloth The VERMOP Tag or transponder is sewn into the mop or ironed onto the cloth. Its chip contains a 16-digit number by which it can be identified via the MopLog scanner. The VERMOP Tag is permanently resistant to chemicals typically used in cleaning or laundry processes. It can endure temperatures up to 130 C for short periods and has a long service life. Just like the scanner, the VERMOP Tags were especially developed for the MopLog system. Both are tuned perfectly to each other and only function as a unit. Together with the VERMOP cleaning textiles, they form a closed system which guarantees high-quality cleaning processes. The VERMOP Tag card The VERMOP Tag card in check card format contains a single tag. It serves for example to identify customers, sites or staff members to whom textile units are delivered. 13 MopLog textiles The scanner or hand scanner can register all cleaning textiles which are equipped with the VERMOP Tag. You can choose between different prepared mop, cloths, laundry nets and waste sack which can be scanned. These are clearly identified as MopLog system textiles. The VERMOP tags are securely fastened to the mop or the cloth. The MopLog textiles can endure high operational demands in everyday cleaning.
