1 SHORT QUOTATION NOTICE TU/11-24/Pur/Qtn/2013/372-A dated 23/04/2013 Sealed quotations are invited for supply of the following items required for the research project of Dr. S.Saha, Department of MBBT, Tezpur University. Specification for instruments: 1. CO 2 incubator: a) Suitable for animal cell culture. b) Capacity lit. c) Air jacketed and direct heating. Uniform heating is required. d) Temperature range: 4º C above ambient to 45º C. e) CO 2 range: %. f) Precise CO 2 level and temperature control is required. g) High temperature disinfection. Temperature should reach at least 120º C. h) Alarms for CO 2 and Temp fault. i) At least 4 perforated shelves and tray for water (for humidification) should be provided. j) Incubator should be supplied with a CO 2 cylinder and a stainless steel good quality CO 2 regulator. k) Please specify the time period of warranty. l) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 2. Biosafety Cabinet: a) Class II type, vertical flow biosafety cabinet. b) Minimum internal dimension of the work area (H x W x D): (26 in x 38 in x 18 in). c) HEPA or alternative filter for filtering air into the cabinet. d) Good filtration of air flowing in and out of the cabinet. e) White lamp for illumination of work cabinet. f) UV lamp in the work cabinet for sterilization. g) Automatic UV shut off when sliding sash is lifted. h) Safety alarms for unsafe sliding door position is required. i) Side port for connecting tubing for gas, vacuum, etc is preferable. j) Power point inside the cabinet is preferable. k) Please specify the time period of warranty. l) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 3. Low speed centrifuge with rotor: a) Regulated speed centrifuge with maximum speed 3000 rpm. b) Speed regulator which clearly displays the speed of the rotor. Additional display of the speed is preferable. c) Non-refrigerated. d) Single swing bucket rotor which can hold 15ml and 50 ml conical bottom plastic tube along with tube holders and adaptors should be supplied with the machine.

Gradient thermalcycler: a) Thermalcycler with capability of temperature gradient across the block. b) Block with 96 position for 0.2 ml PCR tubes and can accommodate 96 well plate. c) Temperature control range: from 4 C to 99 C. d) Block Temperature Accuracy: ± 0.3 C or better. e) Minimum gradient range of 15 C. f) Minimum ramp rate 2.0 C/s. g) Heated lid. h) Machine should have good programmability and digital display to show run parameters. i) Please specify the time period of warranty. j) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 5. Refrigerated micro-centrifuge: a) Table top centrifuge. Speed, temperature and time controlled. b) Single rotor which can hold 1.5 and 2 ml tubes and should have capacity of spinning minimum 24 tubes at a time. c) Highest rcf should be at least x g. d) Refrigerated, 4ºC to 37ºC. 6. Balance: a) Analytical Balance. b) Can weigh from 0.02 gm to 200 gm. c) Readability 0.01 gm or lower. d) Should have Tare function. 7. Shaker incubator : a) Shaker incubator including rack for plate incubation. Should be capable of simultaneous flask shaking and plate incubation. b) Refrigerated, should be able to maintain minimum 15ºC to maximum 50ºC. Lower minimum temperature is preferable. c) Shaking range: 30 to 300 rpm. d) Precise temperature and speed control. e) Should be able shake X 250 ml or X 500 ml or 4-10 X 1000 ml flasks. f) All size clamps with spring retainer in sufficient numbers should be added in the quoted price. g) Please specify the time period of warranty. h) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 8. Ultra low temperature freezer (-80 C): a) Capacity between 380 to 430 liters with at least 4 compartments and vertical in design. b) Freezer should be able to maintain temperature -80 C or lower. Temperature should be programmable with a range between -50 C to -80 C in 1 C increments. Temperature display should be present. c) Inside compartments should have doors apart from the main freezer door to reduce temperature increase.

3 d) Should have alarm to indicate increase in temperature from set value and also mechanism to manually stop the alarm. Alarm and temperature display should have battery back up so that it works even during power outage. e) Good air circulation and filter system to keep the compressor cool. f) At least two stage cooling system. g) Reduction of temperature from -50 C to -80 C should be achieved maximum by 4 hrs. h) Interior and exterior surfaces should be protected from corrosion. i) Machine with in built voltage compensator is preferred. j) Machine should be with door lock and additional safety features are preferred. k) Additional cost of 2 inch box racks may be quoted. l) Please specify the time period of warranty. m) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 9. Deep freezer (-20 C): a) Capacity between 145 to 350 liter with minimum 4 racks. Vertical freezer is preferred. b) Freezer should maintain at least -20 C. Temperature display should be present. c) Freezer should be a manual defrost freezer. d) Compressor should be heavy duty and energy efficient. e) Temperature control should be precise. f) Aalarm to indicate increase in temperature from set value is preferred. g) Door lock is preferred. h) Please specify the time period of warranty. i) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 10. Digital ph meter: a) Digital ph meter and electrode with measurable ph range b) ph resolution 0.1 or better. c) Relative Accuracy of the meter and electrode set is ±0.03 or better. d) Adjustable electrode stand must be present. e) A kit of ph standards and electrode storage buffer should be provided with the meter. f) Additional cost of a spare electrode may be quoted. g) Please specify the time period of warranty. h) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam, 11. Inverted microscope with digital camera: a) Inverted light microscope suitable for tissue culture flask and plate viewing. b) 4X and 10X objective lenses. 10X objective should have phase contrast. c) Phase contrast attachment should be present. d) 10X eyepiece. e) Machine should have very good quality optical elements. f) Additional cost of an attached colour digital camera with software for acquisition and storage along with a computer and a monitor should be quoted. g) Additional cost of a phase contrast 40X lens may be quoted. h) Please specify the time period of warranty. i) Quotation price should include delivery of the instrument till Tezpur University, Napaam,

Gel running apparatus and power pack: a) One submarine gel running apparatus, vertical gel running apparatus with accessories for western transfer for mini protein gels, and power pack is required. b) 1 submarine gel running apparatus (for agarose gel electrophoresis), which is capable of running gel size of about X 10 cm. System should include gel tank with the lid, UV transparent gel tray of about x 10 cm (width X length) with two slots for combs, casting apparatus, and two 1.5 mm thick combs (15 and 20 well) for the gel tray. Additional cost of an UV transparent gel tray of about 7 x 10 cm, (width X length) with two slots for combs, and two 1.5 mm thick combs (8 and 15 well) for the gel tray may also be quoted. c) 1 vertical gel running apparatus with accessories for western transfer for mini protein gels (gel size about 8 X 7 cm). System should be capable of run and transfer of at least two mini protein gels at a time. Plates for gel casting should have attached spacers. System should include gel tank with the lid, accessories for western transfer, gel casting apparatus, plates with 0.75 mm and 1.5 mm thick spacers, plates without spacer, combs 0.75 mm and 1.5 mm thick 10 well and 15 well. d) Power Pac with option of setting constant volt or current, and time. Volts range: V Current range: ma Power pack should be compatible with the quoted submarine and vertical gel running system. It should be capable of running 4 gel apparatus simultaneously. There should be pause option to change run parameters. Automatic no load detection and power failure detection is preferable. 13. Adjustable volume pipettes: a) Set of 4 adjustable volume pipettes. b) 4 pipettes together should able to cover the handling volume range of 0.5 micro litres to 1000 micro litres. c) Good volume display. d) Pipetting volumes can be adjusted. e) Separate button for Tip ejector f) Spring loaded tips cone g) Autoclavable. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS: 1. No separate tender paper will be issued from the office; one should only download the specifications/list from the website. 2. The rates should be quoted on FOR Tezpur University, Napaam basis. 3. Quotations should be accompanied byi) A call deposit (earnest money) amounting `. 5,000/- pledge in favor of Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur. 4. The rates should be exclusive of taxes and applicable tax % should be clearly indicated. 5. Quoted rates should be valid at least for a period of 6 months. 6. The rates should be quoted along with supporting documents of specifications and technical features and list of users. 7. Details of availability of after sales support will have to be furnished. After sales support directly from manufacturer and from Assam ( Guwahati / Tezpur) will be preferred. 8. The University is exempted from paying Custom and Excise duty. 9. Proprietary items should be quoted with sole Manufacturer/Distributorship certificate.

5 10. No Advance payment will be made. However if the item is of foreign origin, advance payment will be made either by FDD or vide LOC. In such cases 10% Performance Bank Guarantee should be submitted before issuing FDD/LOC, covering the warranty period. 11. Performance Bank Guarantee also has to be submitted for Major equipments of Indian origin, covering the warranty period. 12. Items of Foreign origin should have Insurance up to installation on site. 13. The University reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the quotations without assigning any reason. 14. Applications should be forwarded to the Registrar for release of call deposit/emd. 15. Quotation should be submitted within 15 days from issue of this notice. Registrar Tezpur University
