5 AVIOMAR GRoUP Menchandise from India usually enters Colombia by the port located at Buenaventura. In Colombia there are two possibilities for doing the customs process: to do the merchandise release at the port, or send it to the city where the importer is based and leave it in a customs zone while it is released. In both cases merchandise can be either at port or customs zone up to a month from the time of arrival, and this time can be extended for one more month. 7 IMPORT REQUIREMENTS In order to legalize imports in Colombia, importer must submit the customs declaration document as well as the following documents. -Transport document (BL / AWB / letter of handling) -Commercial invoice -General mandate -Certification of freight and insurance -Import registration and the corresponding permits, when required.

11 IMPORT PERMITS THE NATIONAL CUSTOMS AND TAX AGENCY - DIAN Dian is the customs control organisation in Colombia. In order to import into Colombia merchandise classified from chapters 50 to 64 (textiles, manufactures and footwear) a special permission must be granted to the imported, which is valid for two years.
