FRAUNHOFER CENTER FOR MARITIME LOGISTICS AND SERVICES CML Smart Ports Digitalization for Green and Efficient Operations in Ports

Finance volume Contract Research The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft at a Glance The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft undertakes applied research of direct utility to private and public enterprise and of wide benefit to society. 24,500 staff 2.1 billion 1.9 billion Major infrastructure capital expenditure and defense research Almost 30% is contributed by the German federal and Länder Governments 69 institutes and research units 2016 More than 70% is derived from contracts with industry and from publicly financed research projects.

Fraunhofer CML addresses major challenges along the maritime logistics chain Research Field Maritime Logistics Chain Hinterland Port Vessel Port Hinterland 3 major challenges currently in focus 1. Productivity 2. Environment Pre-Carriage Carriage On-Carriage 3. Safety and Security Cargo flow Information flow Technologies and Systems Planning Processes Forecasts

Digitalization in Seaports Entwicklung digitaler Innovationen um Häfen Marine traffic Port / hinterland traffic Energy and infrastrcuture

Digitalization of the maritime transport chain Source: based on Accenture (2016)

Which port actors does what in digitalization or environmental protection or both? Handling Distri-bution Warehousing Harbor Police Forwarder Customs Pilots Port Hafen Terminals and Depots Haulier Tugs Port Authority Fastener Carrier Federal Waterway and Shipping Administration Shipping Company Source: Wasser- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes (Federal Waterway and Shipping Administration) with own amendments

Smart port projects and elements in Hamburg NAVIGATION IN REAL-TIME Information about the traffic situation in and around the port. SmartPORT logistics app for trucks provides nearest and free parking space SHORE POWER FROM RENEWABLE ENERGIES INTELLIGENT RAILWAY POINT / SMART SWITCHES sensors that transmit data re. condition and wear SMART MAINTENANCE Monitored using mobile end devices, such as tablets or smartphones. VIRTUAL DEPOT To optimise the movement of empty containers between packing companies, avoid truck tkms PORT MONITOR The control room software, Port Monitor, includes vessel positions, water level data, berths, current construction sites, planned dives and bridge heights and widths.

Some pictures from Hamburg Source: HPA

Truck appointment systems For more than a decade already standard in the UK and AUS container ports 2017 finally established in Hamburg too. Mandatory. But without bonus / malus system Missing the appointment by +- 1 h sets down priority only, missing it completely does not mean you have to stay outside. Why so late in Hamburg? Appointment forces also the terminal to keep it. Port access roads not that close to housing areas. No contract relation between terminal and road hauliers. Many short distance and short notice trips between the terminals in Hamburg. Many different languages spoken by truck drivers

How can a port or terminal become more green or sustainable? Increase Modal Share of more environmentally friendly transport modes in the hinterland e.g. rail and barges Increase efficiency through planning, both strategic and operational to avoid congestions. Rethink layout, minimize driven kms Support cleaner vessels through port tariff systems Offer facilities for cold ironing and / or LNG and maritime waste facilities Plan and steer energy consumption, Produce own renewable energy BUT no regulation - no change (or very slow changes) - See drop in SO X because of SECA, no drop in NO X because of no regulation

Vessel-Level Port-Level Terminal-Level Emission reduction measures in ports and terminals Reducing energy consumption Technical fuel-efficient, low/zero emission fleet Operational optimize processes optimize layout Behavioral teach equipment drivers Technical fuel-efficient, low/zero emission fleet (e.g. cars, service vessels) Regulatory setting rules (difficult on regional level) Plan and steer energy consumption Renewable Energy Production e.g. EUROGATE (Hamburg / Germany) 2013: Rated power: 2.4 MW Output: 8.7 Mio kwh Output used to cover % of their yearly consumption Source : Eurogate Providing facilities for Onshore Power Supply Providing facilities for LNG bunkering Applying an incentive system for environmental performance of vessels 4

Port Energy Management Overall goal: Reduction of energy use Benchmarking of energy consumptions - Transparent and clear visualization of consumption Alert System: detection and information of suspicious consumption (unnecessary running of equipment, heating of switches) Connection to energy consumers in real time Data recording and data analyses for increasing transparency allowing recommended actions Utilization of technical opportunities prepare the ground for a digitalization of ports and terminals

CO 2 -Sources in a container terminal, example HHLA CO2-Emissions of equipment types Buildings, lightning 11% Reefers 5% Storage cranes 3% RGMs, Railway cranes 12% Van Carrier 49% AGV 20% Source: HHLA Nachhaltigkeitsbericht
