1. Read the manual carefully before operating, and know how the stacker performs. 2. Do not to press the lift or lowering buttons while the stacker is moving. Quickly switching the two buttons may cause damage to the stacker. 3. Do not load heavy goods onto the forks quickly. Use steady motions. 4. The stacker should NEVER be overloaded. When overloaded, the stacker will not operate normally and may cause damage. 5. The center of gravity of the goods should be centered between the two forks. Not evenly distributing loads can cause damage to forks and the load of goods. 6. Loose and unstable goods should NEVER be placed onto the stacker. 7. Do not leave loads or goods on the forks for a long period of time in a raised position, this can cause damage to the stacker. 8. When the stacker is not in use, the forks should be lowered to the lowest position. 9. Never put any person or body part under forks or loads. 10. Only use the stacker on flat ground, NEVER use on slopes or uneven ground at anytime. 11. Do not operate the stacker under rated voltage of 20.4V. This will cause damage. 12. Do not plug directly into AC power supply for charge. 13. Operator must ALWAYS wear approved safety helmet, goggles, gloves and protective clothing. 14. The stacker cannot travel continuously more than 6.5ft. when the fork are raised over 19.5in. WORK AREA SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Keep work area clean, free of clutter and well lit. Cluttered and dark work areas can cause accidents. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a stacker. Distractions can cause you to lose control, so visitors should remain at a safe distance from the work area. Be aware of all power lines, electrical circuits, water pipes and other mechanical hazards in your work area, particularly those hazards below the work surface hidden from the operator s view that may be unintentionally contacted and may cause personal harm or property damage. Be alert of your surroundings. Using a stacker in confined work areas may put you dangerously close to cutting tools and rotating parts. PERSONAL SAFETY Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when using a stacker. Do not use a stacker while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating a stacker may result in serious personal injury. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing, dangling objects, or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts. Use safety apparel and equipment. Use safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields which comply with current national standards, or when needed, a face shield. Use as dust mask in dusty Page 3 of 10
work conditions. This applies to all persons in the work area. Also use non-skid safety shoes, hardhat, gloves, dust collection systems, and hearing protection when appropriate. SEMI-ELECTRIC STACKER USE AND CARE Do not modify the stacker in any way. Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety and could affect the life of the equipment. There are specific applications for which the stacker was designed. Always check for damaged or worn out parts before using the stacker. Broken parts will affect the stacker operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. Do not exceed the stacker load capacity of 2200 lbs. Distribute the load evenly. Uneven loads may cause the stacker to tip, resulting in personal injury to the operator or others. Use the stacker on flat and level surfaces capable of supporting the stacker and its maximum load. Pulling or pushing a load on a slanted or uneven surface can result in loss of control. Store idle stacker. When stacker is not in use, store it in a secure place out of the reach of children. Inspect it for good working condition prior to storage and before each use. OPERATION WARNING: Press the power switch to turn OFF power supply if the stacker becomes out of operators control! WARNING: NEVER move the stacker when the forks are lifting or lowering! WARNING: Batteries contain acid! When handling batteries ALWAYS wear approved safety goggles, rubber gloves and protective clothing that are able to stand up to acid. Acid can cause burns and injury. WARNING: Risk of fire can occur when working with batteries. flame, smoking, or any flammable situations when handling batteries! Avoid any open BEFORE OPERATION BATTERY INFORMATION Battery initial charge: Charge batteries minimum of 12 hours or until the LED indicator light on panel shows 100%. When charging batteries, the stacker must be parked in a secure area with good ventilation. Check that all cables are connected tightly and no signs of damage appear. Follow any safety regulations of battery manufacturer and any specific instructions according to battery manufacturer if replacement battery is used. Page 4 of 10
The battery panel must never be removed before or during charging. An open panel can cause injury or death from electric shock. It is recommended to charge the batteries whenever the stacker is not in use. This helps maintain the life of the batteries. The ON-Board Charger should always be used for charging batteries with this stacker. The avg. charge time is 9 to 12 hours for a fully discharged battery. When the battery is fully charged the charger will automatically transfer to non-charging status to not damage the batteries. It is recommended to check water level of batteries every 3 to 6 months (see maintenance section) Operating instructions 1. Before each use, check that the stacker is in normal working condition. Check moving parts, hydraulic hoses, wheels, etc. Do not use stacker if not operating normally. Have qualified mechanic make repairs before use. 2. Check the battery power as indicated in Fig. 1. Pull the general power supply switch out to turn on the general power supply, unlock the electric lock on the handle, check the electric energy meter on the instrument panel of the stacker. If the zero end is lit, this indicates there is no power in the batteries, and batteries need to be charged. Do not operate the stacker without well charged batteries, as this can greatly reduce the service life of the batteries and damage the batteries. 3. Check that the stacker lifting and lowering is operating normally. Operation: Stacking and Handling loads Turn on the stacker by unlocking the electric door lock. Move the stacker near the load to be transported. Press the lowering button and adjust the height of the forks to a proper position with pallet of load. Insert the forks slowly and as deep as possible into the pallet. Press the lifting button until the forks are 8-12 inches from the ground (8 to 12 inch max. height is recommended when transporting goods). Move the stacker to the desired location of the load and stop slowly. Keep the front of the forks minimum of 4 inches from any shelf or racking. Press the lifting button to raise the forks to a proper height with the shelf or racking. (Keep the bottom of the pallet min. of 4 inches Page 5 of 10
higher than the shelf or rack). Move the goods slowly to the correct position of the shelf or rack and press the lowering button, slowly put the goods carefully on the shelf or rack. Slowly back out the forks away from the goods and move the stacker slowly to remove the fork out of the pallet. Once the forks are min. of 12 inches from the shelf or rack, lower the forks to a height 12 inches from the ground and drive the stacker away from the shelf or rack. Operation: Moving loads on / off racking Turn on the electrical source, unlock the electric door lock, move the stacker near the shelf or rack (keep the front of the fork min. of 12 inches from the goods shelf or rack). Press the lowering button, adjusting the height of the forks to a proper position, and insert the forks slowly and as deep as possible into the pallet. Press the lifting button until the fork is min. of 4 inches from the shelf or rack. Slowly drive the stacker and slowly move the goods out of the shelf or rack (keep the front of the forks min. of 12 inches from the goods shelf or rack). Press the lowering button and lower the forks to a height of 8-12 inches from the ground. Move the stacker away from the shelf and drive it to the desired position and then stop slowly. Press the lowering button to lower the load and back out the forks completely from the pallet. MAINTENANCE Maintain your stacker. It is recommended that the general condition of any stacker be examined before each use. Keep your stacker in good repair by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance. If any abnormal vibrations or noise occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Have necessary repairs made by qualified service personnel. Routine maintenance: Routine maintenance is cleaning the stacker regularly, keeping the batteries clean and charged, and to examine any cords, hoses, or moving parts regularly for wear or potential damage. Never operate with damaged parts. Always repair any damage to the stacker before using or operating at anytime. Maintenance for mechanical system/parts: Perform at least every six months. Add lubricant to the bearings of the drive wheel and the doorframe. Examine fittings and connections to be sure they are fully tight. Check the flexibility and condition of wheels, and the door-frame rollers. Check that the lifting range of forks is operating normally. The operation noise level of the stacker should be no more than 70dB. Maintenance for hydraulic system/parts: Perform at least every six months. Check the oil cylinder for any leakage externally or internally. Check all the hydraulic hose connections for any leakage. The hydraulic oil should be kept clean and generally should be replaced every 12 months. Only ISO hydraulic oil should be used. For higher temperature conditions, HL-N46 or HL-N68 should be used; for lower temperature conditions, HV-N46 or HV-N68 hydraulic oil. Old hydraulic oil should be treated according to any local rules and regulations. Maintenance for electric equipment/ batteries: Perform at least every three months. ALWAYS wear safety goggles and rubber gloves when working with batteries. Every 3 to 6 months, check the level of the water in the batteries. (only when using no-seal batteries.) Remove battery cap, check if water level Page 6 of 10
is below fill line. ONLY use distilled water if any water is needed. Replace battery caps securely and begin charging and using as normal. Check battery terminals are clean, terminals should be kept clean with Vaseline and tight.
