Hapag Lloyd have advised that they will implement a Booking Cancellation Fee of NZD100 per container with effect from the 1 st of October The fee will apply to all bookings that are cancelled, transferred or reduced within 2 working days of the vessel s cargo cut-off. Terminal roll over fees may also apply where applicable.

4 PIL have provided an update on congestion currently affecting ports in South East Asia. They advise that carriers are still facing extreme congestion in Manila, for both North and Southern Terminals, and Cebu. Nhava Sheva continues to experience extreme congestion also, which has extended to Mundra and potentially will impact with Delhi Inland Container Deports served via Mundra. Whilst it was previously suggested that customers consider alternative Indian Ports of Discharge, doing so may now not make a difference as the congestion escalate. NYK have advised that due to the recent congestion issues in Manila, a Manila Congestion Fee of USD200 per TEU will be implemented from the 4 th of October This will be applicable for all inbound cargo from NZ to Manila, and the surcharge will be collected at destination. MOL have advised that effective from the 22 nd of September, the Congestion Surcharge for all cargo from NZ to Manila will increase to USD200 per TEU. This charges will be for the account of the freight payer. OOCL have advised that effective from the 20 th of October, the Emergency Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) will be increased by USD150 per TEU for all cargo from Australia and NZ to Manila. This surcharge has been increased due to the continued congestion at Manila terminals.

5 Import Peak Season Reminder - At this time of year, freight volumes moving around the world are traditionally higher due to increased shipments of retail merchandise prior to the Christmas season. As a result, import shipments to New Zealand (in particular from North and South East Asia) can be affected by the increased demand on available space and equipment, which may result in delays of up to 2-3 weeks from some origins. In order to reduce the risk of these delays, please make sure that you notify your local Mainfreight Air & Ocean Customer Service Representative of any bookings you would like to make as early as possible, and whether there is a required delivery time for your orders. This way our customer service team can try to secure the necessary space and equipment ahead of time, or offer alternate solutions to meet a deadline. We have received advice from Mainfreight Transport that our domestic cartage rates, including loose cargo, airfreight and full container loads, will be increased effective from the 29 th of September The increases vary depending on the origin and destination of the freight, and the mode used. Please contact your local Mainfreight Air & Ocean Sales or Customer Service Representative for more information.
