2 THE MOTOR FOR YOUR STORAGE PROCESS Miedema receiving hoppers form the cornerstone for RELIABLE storing. It serves as a buffer while cleaning and even sorting your product. Miedema receiving hoppers are your guarantee for product friendliness, capacity, ease of use and versatility. And, very importantly, the cost of use remains attractively low. The INNOVATIVE MH series and its little brother, the SB series, have been developed to satisfy the demanding user. SIMPLER The SB and MH series have a large, dust-tight control box. Icons make operation very simple. The receiving hoppers are standard equipped with a wired remote control. All the machines are equipped with Start-Control. With the press of a single button, all the machines start in sequential order with timer delay. This prevents peaks in the electrical mains and optimizes the capacity and product-friendly operation. The handy, automated SB- or MH-Control capacity control with two sensors and four stop programs make the work exceptionally ENJOYABLE. MORE EFFICIENT The MH series is very suitable as a combination machine: the MHC (Combi). This allows Miedema to offer a custom solution for every customer, with combinations of buffering, cleaning, sorting, inspection and transport tailored to the customer s wishes. That makes the MHC an ECONOMICAL machine in which all the good characteristics of the individual Miedema modules are brought together. 2

3 MIEDEMA SB 151 MIEDEMA SB 451 The SB 151 is the smallest hopper in the range yet is equipped with the right features. Ideal for growers with limited acreage. The hopper is easy to place due to its compact size. Moreover, it can be equipped with various cleaning units, with discharge belt or even a sliding chute to guide the product to the conveyor belt or sorting unit. The SB 451 may be the little brother, but it can handle large capacities, with an efficient hopper volume of 10 m³. This product-friendly hopper can be equipped with various options, such as cleaning systems and in combination with presorting. 4 MIEDEMA SB 651 The SB 651 has a two metre wide product-friendly bottom belt. It is a hopper with a volume of 12 m³ that receives the product and transports it to the modules that can be placed downstream of the bottom belt. You can choose from various cleaning systems, presorting or even combination with an inspection table. COMPACT YET ALSO PRODUCTIVE The SB receiving hoppers are the most compact series within the Miedema range that can also achieve a high capacity of 150 tonnes per hour. Thanks to a number of carefully chosen options, these receiving hoppers perfectly accommodate the local conditions. The SB series is characterized by robust construction of the live bottom frame. The heavy-duty, specially hardened live bottom chain ensures maximum service life with minimum maintenance. Loss of product is prevented thanks to the hopper s extra high side boards, sturdy rubber sealing guards at the infeed of the receiving hopper and perfect sealing. 5 MIEDEMA MH 200 MIEDEMA MH 201 The compact MH 200 has a practical hopper volume of 11 to 13 m³ and is the perfect choice for medium-sized companies. The receiving hopper is an attractive proposition due to its large capacity and cleaning with maximum product friendliness. The MH 201 is suitable for medium-sized and large growers. Thanks to an efficient hopper volume of 15 to 17 m³ this receiving hopper is eminently satisfactory for growers who prefer a larger buffer. Moreover, this model is the solution for growers who work with various low-discharge-height tipping trailers. 6 MIEDEMA MH 240 MIEDEMA MH 241 The professional, easy-to-use MH 240 is suitable for medium-sized and larger growers. This receiving hopper is ideal for growers with limited space who nevertheless desire high buffer capacity. This type has a volume of 13 to 15 m³. Also suitable for medium-sized and larger companies, the MH 241 has a hopper volume of 18 to 20 m³. Thanks to the flattened area at the infeed side, this receiving hopper is very suitable for growers who work with many different tipping trailers. 7 MIEDEMA MH 242 The MH 242 is the perfect choice for large storage companies and growers. Thanks to the long, straight bottom of the MH 242, consistent product filling is guaranteed, with a buffer capacity of 26 to 28 m³. In fact, the large hopper volume often makes it possible to eliminate one of the transport units. HIGH QUALITY AND USER FRIENDLY The MH series serves well for a wide variety of needs and is suitable for medium-sized to large storage companies and growers. The robust construction of the live bottom frame makes it the longest lasting machine of its kind in the market. The special support at the infeed prevents sagging of the live bottom, so the use of large trailers is not a problem. The heavy-duty, specially hardened live bottom chain ensures maximum service life with minimum maintenance. The product-friendly bottom belt does a great job of keeping the product moving. Loss of product is prevented thanks to the hopper s extra high side boards, the sturdy rubber sealing guards (extra rubber sealing guards are optional) at the infeed of the receiving hopper and perfect sealing. Perforations along the side boards on both sides provide a good view of the unloading trailer and the filling of the MH. The various options and versions that are available make this machine feel like it was custom made: it accommodates the way you work in your company. 8 MADE-TO-MEASURE CLEANING AND SORTING The approach to cleaning and sorting depends entirely on your specific situation. Therefore Miedema offers a handful of possibilities from which you can make the best choice. By sorting quickly and accurately you can considerably boost the ECONOMIC yield of your product. One choice is whether you want the cleaning or sorting unit directly downstream of the receiving hopper or combined with it as a single unit. The wide sieve at the end of the bottom belt ensures good cleaning. The cleaning sieve can be perfectly set to the correct position and mesh width. The optional second unit can also be equipped as desired. The sorting rollers enable you to sort your product by size, adding value to your product. In each case you can choose between 6, 7 or 8 rollers. When conditions are at their worst, scrapers keep the rollers free from sticking soil. The SB series can also be equipped with product-friendly PU star rollers with 7 or 11 fingers. These are suitable for handling light soil. SMOOTH ROLLERS COIL ROLLERS PU ROLLERS SU SORTING ROLLERS The smooth rollers are suitable for working with heavy soil. They can also be combined with coil rollers. All of the various roller types can be changed quickly and easily. 8 Coil rollers are suitable for a variety of soil types, even those with many stones. These are available in a filled version and provide the best cleaning result without haulm getting wrapped around the roller. In combination with the Smart-Pin, the same level of efficiency is maintained throughout the work. As an alternative, polyurethane coil rollers are available. These provide efficient cleaning with sufficient product friendliness. The SU sorting rollers always have an exact square-mesh riddle size at every setting. They are available in 35-55, and mm and are infinitely adjustable within each range. These can only be used in a second cleaning unit.

Because all the machine modules are mounted on one frame, all the relative adjustments remain intact. This way you easily achieve the maximum capacity and optimal product friendliness. Moreover, transport and set-up of your line hardly takes any time at all. Thanks to a large number of combination possibilities, such as cleaning, sorting, immediate inspection of the product and truck filling directly from the field, you have a flexible and RELIABLE unit. 10 OPTIONS SB- OR MH-CONTROL SMART-PIN VARIABLE INPUT BOARD Two sensors are used to control the speed of the live bottom, boosting the capacity. With SB- or MH-Control you get the most out of your receiving hopper, with high cleaning quality. Continuous discharge of the product keeps the conveyor belts filled to the optimal level without any need for manual intervention. This guarantees you maximum product friendliness. Thanks to the Smart-Pin, a wear-resistant pin that runs between the coil rollers, consistent product cleaning quality is guaranteed without interruption of the storage process. The wear pin is heavily spring loaded, easy to adjust and easy to replace when necessary. A second pin can be added when you are faced with tough conditions. Another possibility is the fold-away Smart-Pin; with this option, any trapped haulm is released, so it never interferes with the product flow. A variable input board is the solution when various trailers are used for unloading the product. This can be easily adjusted upwards and downwards with a height range of 85 to 120 cm. This prevents spillage of the product. LIFT-SET The unique aspect of the Miedema Lift-Set (not possible for the SB series) is that it provides a simple means choosing whether or not presorting is used. The presorting unit can be easily activated and deactivated, in just two minutes, with very little effort. In addition, the special construction provides 100% separation of the product, low fall heights, and better and greater sorting capacity. It is also possible to sort out all the product streams to one side. 10

11 OPTIONS FLOW-PIN ONION MILL NAVIGATION LIGHT The Flow-Pin boosts the sorting capacity of your receiving hopper. It provides even, product-friendly forward movement of the product on smooth or sorting rollers. When you are confronted with difficult conditions, the onion mill is the ideal solution for even discharge of the product on the first sieve cleaner. A white navigation light on the side boards helps the driver back straight in. When the tipping trailer has been driven far enough into the receiving hopper, the light turns red to indicate the ideal unloading position.** CHAIN LUBRICATION RECEIVING DETECTION PRESENTATION BELT With automatic lubrication of the live bottom chain you have the peace of mind of knowing it is always lubricated properly, and that means less wear while also reducing power consumption. That way you can make the most of your time during the busy harvest season.** Receiving detection stops the machine or storage line automatically when the trailer is empty. A residual layer of potatoes remains at the infeed so the next load is not dumped directly onto the bottom belt. This ensures you of maximum product friendliness.** When you are confronted with heavy soils or contaminated/ long products, a presentation belt between the live bottom and first sieve cleaner guarantees you maximum capacity. It provides even dispersion and metering, resulting in efficient cleaning and metering.** ** Not possible for the SB series 11

12 MH 280 The MH receiving hopper ushers in a whole new series of receiving hoppers, modularly built and made to measure for the demanding user. In this series all the parts are designed to be extra robust, specially for the bulb industry. The MH 281 and 282, with lengths of and m respectively, and also suitable for other crops, such as potatoes, onions, beetroot, etc. The weights of these crops are much higher because a lot of soil accompanies them from the field to the company. This series of receiving hoppers has been developed to handle these heavy loads. MH 660 XTREME De MH 660 Xtreme has an exceptionally robust construction. The receiving hopper has an extra heavy-duty bottom chain in combination with a heavy-duty drive with dog clutch brake. The automatic lubrication, in turn, ensures minimal wear of the bottom chain. A robust presentation belt between the live bottom and first sieve cleaner guarantees even distribution and metering, and variable belt speed is available as an option. The MH-Control, in turn, ensures maximum capacity. 12
