Laskin Gateway Area - Staff devoted numerous hours to retiming this area in an attempt to accommodate construction and commuter traffic through this construction zone 2. Final Traffic Signal Retiming Reports - Final copies of the traffic signal retiming reports were received on North Independence Boulevard, Princess Anne Road (Upper), and Birdneck Road. - Report Summaries are attached II. April 6, 2011 Signal Pre-Emption Meeting with First Responders This meeting was with Police, Fire, EMS, and 911 Center personnel to provide: - An update on completion of the traffic signal network construction contract - Discussion of the need to install codes on all vehicles using the pre-emption system Special Event Support 1. Cruising Wild Wheels Weekend, at the Oceanfront, April 15-17, The Traffic Sign Shop provided traffic control and material support for the event Traffic Management Operations Division Response Information Some of the vital statistics we address each month 1. 2 Fiber Optic Cable Network Expansion Birdneck Road and Lynnhaven Parkway/Holland Road Birdneck Road - Installed 13,100 feet of fiber - Connecting 7 intersections Lynnhaven Parkway/Holland Road - Installed 23,400 feet of fiber - Connecting 19 intersections Staff continues to work on expanding the fiber optic cable network; adding Lynnhaven Parkway/ Holland Road and Birdneck Road to the fiber backbone. All of the work, including cable pulls and fiber splicing, was done by in-house staff.

3 Pavement Marking Crew Developed ONLY Template The pavement marking crew developed a jig to help them place the word ONLY on the streets in thermoplastic paints. Jig assembly saves considerable time on premarking the road for an ONLY installation. Staff can pre-mark the road in 5 minutes compared to 30 minutes with the old method.
