16 ScanMed Corridor - characteristics Largest of the 9 corridors Crosses 7 Member States (+ Norway) from the Finnish-Russian border to Malta 9300 KM of core rail 6300 km of core road network 25 core ports, 19 core airports and 45 core rail-road terminals and 18 core urban nodes. 2 key cross border bottlenecks: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link and Brenner Base Tunnel Integrates ScanMed Rail Freight Corridor Transport

23 The Connecting Europe Facility Projects to be financed by CEF: transport Grant focus on cross-border sections and bottlenecks for the cleaner modes of transports (Railways, Inland Waterways) Focus on projects located on the 9 trans-european Corridors, but not only Support to the deployment of European traffic management systems for a more efficient use of the existing infrastructure (SESAR, ERTMS ) Support to the deployment of new technologies and innovation for decarbonisation of transport (Electrification, LNG & intelligent transport systems)
