1 Greece Operations Base OSRA Greece operates in line with the standard OSRA INTERNATIONAL Response Management System. In common with other OSRA network members, our core competences are environmental response services (to oil and HNS spills); training, supplies and consultancy to ensure preparedness for environmental emergencies; as well as tank and industrial cleaning. OSRA Greece is part of the OSRA INTERNATIONAL network of oil spill response operators (OSROs) around the Mediterranean. Since commencement of operations in 2011, we have been involved in over 15 incidents, mostly as part of salvage operations. OSRA has helped raise the bar for environmental response projects in Greece, and it has been very well received by the local and international shipping industry, marinas, as well as the environmental authorities. We firmly believe that speed is a crucial element in any emergency response effort. A team of responders have been trained to OPRC IMO level 2 as a minimum, to operate the base in Piraeus on a 24 x 7 basis. We keep our equipment regularly maintained and combat-ready, ensuring immediate preparedness to emergency call-outs. We also organise regular exercises with various industry operators response teams. These exercises serve to train the client s oil spill response own resources. OSRA INTERNATIONAL was born as a joint venture between OSROs and keeps expanding to accept other member responders to form a network of bases across Italy, Gibraltar, Greece, Malta and Tunisia. Through an exclusive arrangement between AOST (a founder member of the OSRA joint venture) and NRC, a global market leader in the provision of environmental, industrial and emergency response solutions, OSRA is also able to extend its services in Egypt and Turkey. The AOST group has for the last 25 years been providing integrated logistics solutions for the shipping and oil & gas industries.
