2 /// SAVE ENERGY /// SAVE RESOURCES /// SAVE CLIMATE PROGRAM Committed to the environment, looking to the future Transportation is a greenhouse gas (GHGs) producing activity. All players in this sector have a responsibility to integrate carbon footprint reduction into their strategic priorities. Measuring the environmental impact of logistical flows is already a major objective of our main clients and partners. Meeting your requirements and supporting your environmental policy is the goal of SAVE PROGRAM. SDV has therefore made carbon reduction the new driver of logistics performance through its offering of eco-responsible solutions. These 3 steps demonstrate the efficiency of SAVE PROGRAM: A co2 calculator Measure the carbon footprint of your supply chain using this high-performance tool Designing eco-responsible solutions We offer new logistics solutions that will optimise your supply chain and reduce CO2 emissions A voluntary carbon offsetting scheme Gives you the opportunity to take action by participating in climate change programmes

3 PROGRAM A CO2 calculator to measure the impact of your supply chain Do you need to assess the carbon footprint of your supply chain? SDV has built a high-performance tool that calculates CO 2 volume generated by each shipment, based on the transport method used, the distance travelled and the weight of the goods. CO 2 calculator is integrated into SDV s information system, and is based on international standards. On a periodical basis, SDV provides a dashboard showing the total carbon indicator and a breakdown by transport methods and geographical flows. Supported by SDV experts, you can interpret the results through actions to reduce GHGs. Bilan Carbone & GHG Protocol internationally recognised methods

4 PROGRAM Eco-solutions to reduce CO2 emissions while optimising your supply chain Are you looking for robust and innovative solutions to limit your carbon footprint? Do you have to control costs and meet deadlines? With SDV, you can integrate an environmental component into your logistics performance indicators. Analysis of your situation A team of SDV specialists will conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of your logistical system. To propose the best alternative solutions with the best environmental results, we will conduct our diagnosis in accordance with your objectives and your requirements in terms of quality, cost and lead time. An advisory role with a view to continuous improvement Customised design of eco-responsible logistical systems integrating regulatory and technological change Implementation of the process Follow-up and support at each stage of the project Eco-responsible solutions To reduce your carbon footprint, all options for improvement are studied: Logistics networks: consolidation of flows, optimisation of transport plans and container loading Transport methods: selection of high-performance carriers, technological innovation (hybrid vehicles, electrical vehicles, natural gas vehicles, ), switch from air to ocean, from road to rail and river Warehousing: improving the footprint of existing facilities, ISO 14001, new energy efficient buildings, environmental certifications (LEED, BREEAM, HEQ) flow management: order management, planning, monitoring of urgent shipments, sharing of resources and warehouses with other companies Packaging: choice of recyclable materials, size, format, reverse logistics

5 PROGRAM A voluntary carbon offsetting programme to help fight climate change Are you looking for a logistical system with an almost zero carbon footprint? Do you want to contribute to global sustainable development initiatives? With SDV, add a new dimension to your environmental policy! Through its partnership with EcoAct, a European leader in carbon offsetting, SDV offers you the chance to take positive voluntary action in favour of the environment. You can offset transportrelated greenhouse gas emissions by purchasing equivalent carbon credits. In this way you help to finance major environmental and social projects that are specially selected by SDV. SDV simplifies your procedures and will manage your offsetting operations with complete traceability of carbon credits at no extra cost: - UNFCCC methodology (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) - Gold Standard certification or VCS with Social Carbon - auditing by independent companies Your action means that projects can be undertaken in all four corners of the world: biomass valorisation, forest preservation, reforestation and agroforestry, biogas valorisation, promotion of renewable energies Barbosa Barbosa, a project that uses biomass valorisation to preserve Brazil s native forest. Goal: To implement a sustainable approach for a small familybased brick production unit for the construction market in the region of Pará. How? By replacing the Amazonian wood used to fuel the kilns with agricultural residues and sawmills. Environmental and social benefits: it is contributing to the fight against deforestation and the preservation of the Amazon forest, improving working conditions and employment for the local population. What exactly is voluntary carbon offsetting? This is a mechanism by which an entity can offset the equivalent of its carbon footprint (expressed in tonnes of CO2 equivalent) by financing one or more programmes for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in a developing country.
