SLP pallet racks Perfect for EURO pallets, special pallets, cage pallets and other heavy loads SLP pallet racks are made of cold-formed structural upright columns and horizontal beams, which provide maximum load carrying capacities and torsion resistance while requiring a minimum of material. This means highest stability while saving on valuable resources. The unique V-type holes in the uprights provide for quick and easy assembly of the load beams without any tools. All key components of our racks are ready for shipment within a few workdays, as we produce in large series with a smartly operated warehousing system. High flexibility The system, which consists of modularly designed, easily combinable uprights, load beams and other accessories, can be flexibly and optimally adjusted to meet the needs of the stored products and the local conditions. The load beams are height-adjustable at 70-mm intervals. Unparalleled stability The columns and beams are made of up to 3-mm-thick cold-formed higherstrength steel coil up to grade S 420. The unique V-type holes in the upright columns in combination with the inclined engaging surfaces of the hangers guarantee safest transmission of forces from the load beam into the columns with an exceptionally high fixed-end moment. Depending on the rack type, maximum weights of 4,500 kg per pair of load beams are possible, in case of uniformly distributed loads. 2

u u u u Safe Stable Quick set-up Durable Easy assembly The beams can be hooked in with ease without any tools thanks to the special V-type holes in the upright columns, the special geometry of the hangers and the innovative arrangement of the holes in the diagonal braces. High working and operating safety The new RS beams consist of a single, closed hollow section that has no protruding edges. This shape prevents any risk of the forklift forks getting locked during loading. Even when a forklift touches a beam, the stability of the overall rack will not be affected. The load beams come with three or four-finger claws welded to their ends and a lock that prevents unintentional removal. Long service life The columns and beams have a powder-coating finish as standard. On request, a hot-dip galvanized surface finish can be provided. The new RS structural beam does not feature any open edges. Thus, the beams of SLP systems are free from any critical areas otherwise prone to corrosive attack. Short lead times SLP offers instantaneous shipment of a wide range of items in stock and of standard items within 5 workdays ex works. 3

This is how it should be: Safety at work requirements [according to German DGUV regulation (formerly BGR 234)] A minimum of four rack sections connected in a row is assumed as the minimum set-up otherwise the allowable payload must be reduced by 20 percent. In each rack section, there must be at least two pairs of load beams above one another. The distances between the beams within one rack section must not differ by more than the factor 1.2. Every rack row must bear the payload labels, which are part of the delivery. The operator must guarantee that the floor is designed to securely carry the loads induced by the upright frames. The outer frames must be at least 500 mm higher than the uppermost storage level. In case of drive-through systems, the minimum clearance above the vehicle must be 2,000 mm. Outer frames and drive-through aisles must be fitted with collision guards. The back sides of free-standing racks must be fitted with mesh to prevent stored items from falling down. Drive-through aisles and overhead structures must be suitably covered to prevent stored items from falling down. 4

And everything else you need... Full range of accessories Collision protection To protect corners or middle columns. Thickness 6 mm. 4 floor anchors M 12 x 110 mm included. DIN compliant; fulfills requirements of German DGUV safety regulation (formerly BGR 234). Column protectors To protect the lower parts of the columns. 6 bolts included. Must not be used instead of collision protection devices! Yellow (RAL 1003) Guard rails To protect the short sides of the racks. Height 500 mm, thickness 3 mm. Bolt anchors included. Height extension To prevent items from falling down at the short sides of the racks. DIN compliant; fulfills requirements of German DGUV safety regulation (formerly BGR 234). Does not fit onto older, welded frames. Existing frames must have 2 free holes at their top ends for bolting the extension to the uprights. Anchoring For anchoring the upright frames, generally 1 bolt anchor is used per footplate ( = 2 anchors per upright frame). Load distribution beams Improve distribution of upright column loads. Come with anchoring holes. Suitable for 1,100 mm frame depth. Spacers Frame connection for double row arrangements. 4 bolts and nuts M 10 x 25 mm included. Up to 5,255 mm frame height = 2 pieces From 5,885 mm frame height = 3 pieces To be placed according to assembling instructions. Push-through stops For a max. pallet overhang of 50 mm, boltable. NOT to be used as a stop for the pallets proper. 6

Pallet supports At least 2 supports are needed in case of crosswise storage. They can also be used for lengthwise storage in case of excessively sagging pallets. Fits on all types of RTS beams. Grating frames Used to accommodate gratings. With welded-on side and end stops. Fits in storage width of 800 mm. Payload per piece: 1,000 kg. Wire mesh back panels Prevent stored items from falling from the racks into aisles or working areas. Includes 4 spacers (125 mm) to fix a panel with a 50 x 50 mm mesh size. Steel panel decking Edge height: long side 40 mm and short side 50 mm (with perpendicular edge form for locking). Not generally suitable for pallet storage. Load bearing capacity: Allowable compartment load must be payload per beam pair (number of panel decks x panel deck load). Particle boards type P 4 (38 mm thick) The raw particle board is sunk into the load beam frame onto the panel supports or placed directly on the load beams. Gratings Galvanized gratings with a 50-mm-high welded rim. Base with notches is placed on the load beams. 8 SLP was founded in 1965 at its current location as a subsidiary of what today is Saarstahl AG. From the very beginning, the company has specialized in steel cold-forming. Since 1985, SLP has concentrated exclusively on storage technology. Today, the company is one of Europe s leading manufacturers of heavy-duty shelving for industry and trade. Since 2004, SLP has been a member of the Averys Group, which is specialized in the design, manufacture and assembly of shelving systems, conveying systems and steel furniture. The eleven Group companies employ more than 1,500 people in seven countries. SAAR- LAGER- UND PROFILTECHNIK GMBH Hausenstraße 67, Völklingen/Germany Fon: info@slp-regaltechnik.de
