10 BWM Recommendations 1. Reestablish: Regional Task Force on Control & Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediments in the WCR and El Salvado June 2017 Workshop 2. Pursue options for establishing a WCR BW reporting clearinghouse: Central BW reporting for all ships operating in the WCR via Access for maritime authorities for compliance / port state control A centralized repository linked to ship data to facilitate better understanding of pathways of movement & spread of invasive species Established via RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe Website Incorporated into The Caribbean Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (17 Caribbean States & 1 associate member)

11 Recommendations Encourage the development, for reception, management & disposal of SGW: Waste management plans, Guidelines National regulations Considering harmonization requirements & common structures for: reception facilities requirements, fees, notification/reporting requirements penalties. 11

Conduct next steps for a Regional Reception Facility Plan Guidelines for the Development of a Regional Reception Facilities Plan (Resolution MEPC.221(63)) For development of Regional Arrangement proposals. Establishment of a correspondence group Assessment of 16 SIDS in 2017 National assistance from Stakeholders Consideration by Developed Countries to support assessments for territories/non-u.n. member SIDS

OPRC link/merged under one framework (National Plans, ESI maps, etc.) translated in all working languages Establish connection & ensure availability of information between COCATRAM and RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe
