2 Container Terminal Management Operations 5 Day Training ROTC offers a course in Container Terminal Management and Operations. This course has been developed for supervisors and operational managers from (supporting) departments of container terminals. The focus of this course will be on an operational management level. Topics Topics that will be addressed during the course are: Introduction Transport Chain; Introduction Container Terminal; Processes; Planning; Daily Optimization; Long term Optimization; Cost; Excursion; Procurement; HSE. Prerequisites Basic English comprehension skills; College level education or equivalent level of work experience in the field. The course duration is 5 days. 3 Forklift Driver 5 Day Training ROTC provides high level training meeting industry requirements. ROTC offers a Forklift Driver Course. This course has been developed for inexperienced forklift drivers, or for forklift drivers with little experience. This course aims to get inexperienced drivers at the same level as their experienced colleagues within a relative short period. When you are a skilled forklift driver desiring to participate in the course, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your knowledge and improve your skills. Topics Topics that will be addressed during the course are: Roles of the Terminal s Logistic Process; Types and Purposes of Forklifts; Capacity Calculation Connecting to Stability of the Forklift; Safe Working; Daily Checks and Maintenance; Team Work; Practice Driving and Handling. Prerequisites High school level education; Basic English comprehension skills are beneficial, but not required If necessary, a translator will be present; The course duration is 5 days. 4 Lifting-platform Operators Objectives: Introduction to health and safety; Know the equipment, its classification and technology; Know the rules of operation; Know how to identify the various risk situations; Operate the equipment safely. 6 Port Facility Security Officer (IMO Model Course 3.21) 2 Day Training ROTC offers a Port Facility Security officer that is in accordance with IMO Model Course 3.21 This course is designed for all personnel responsible for and involved in port and terminal security. The course is highly relevant for employees of the Terminal Security Department who are going to be Port Facility Security Officers. Topics Topics that will be addressed during the course are: ISPS Code and National and International Requirements; Creating and Maintaining the Port Facility Security Plan; Emergency Action Plans; Communication, Security Administration and Annual Report; Port Security Levels and Risk Assessment; Search Mechanisms and Security Controls. 7 Reach Stacker Driver 5-14 Day Training ROTC offers a Reach Stacker Driver Course. This course has been developed for inexperienced reach stacker drivers. This course aims to get inexperienced drivers at the same level as their experienced colleagues within a relative short period of time. When you are a skilled reach stacker driver desiring to participate in the course, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your knowledge and improve your skills. Topics Topics that will be addressed during the course are: Roles of the Terminal s Logistic Process; Types and Purposes of Reach Stackers; Layout of (Container-) Yards; Stability of Reach Stackers; Safe Working; Daily Checks and Maintenance; Team Work; Practice. Prerequisites A minimum of high school level education; Working experience on a (heavy) forklift is a benefit; An active learning attitude and ability to work in teams; Basic English comprehension skills are beneficial, but not required If necessary, a translator will be present; The course duration is 14 days (inexperienced drivers). 8 Riggers Objectives: Acquire basic knowledge of hygiene and safety at work in lifting and cargo handling operations. To identify and use the equipment and accessories for lifting and moving loads; Know general rules of cargo handling. To identify the various risk situations in lifting operations and cargo handling. Can apply techniques in a real work environment Contents: Basic calculation of angles and tension Lifting operation and equipment terminology Common unsafe practices and probable consequences Safe and correct use and pre-use examination of rigging and lifting equipment Lifting operations planning and requirements for non-routine/ complex lift planning Care and storage requirements Relevant legislation applicable to lifting operations Requirements of lifting operation risk assessment Basic functions and safe working practices Practical and theoretical test The course duration is 2 days. 9 Rigging Plan / Lifting-Crane Supervisor Objectives: Acquire notions of hygiene and safety at work in lifting and cargo handling operations. To identify the various stages of preparation, approval and implementation of a rigging plan; Risk analysis; Know elaborate rigging plans; Know general rules of cargo handling To identify the various risk situations in lifting operations and cargo handling. 10 Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane Driver 5-15 Day Training ROTC offers a Rubber Tired Gantry Crane Driver Course. This course has been developed for inexperienced RTG drivers. This course aims to get inexperienced drivers at the same level as their experienced colleagues within a relative short period of time. Topics Topics that will be addressed during the course are: Roles of the Terminal s Logistic Process; Layout of (Container-) Yards; Types and Purposes of Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes; Stability of Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes; Hoisting materials; Safe Working; Daily Checks and Maintenance; Team Work; Practice Driving and Handling. Prerequisites Working experience on forklift and/or reach stacker is a benefit; An active learning attitude and ability to work in teams; Basic English comprehension skills are beneficial, but not required If necessary, a translator will be present; A minimum of High School level education. The course duration is 15 days (inexperienced drivers). A short training for experienced drivers takes place in 5 days. Please also refer to the Tailor-Made section below. 11 Ship Security Officer (IMO Model Course 3.19) 2 Day Training ROTC offers a Ship Security Officer Course. The Course is in accordance with IMO Model Course Topics The course content includes the requirements in the STCW Code, section A-VI / 5. ISPS regulations. The course consists of the following topics: Implementation of a ship security plan; Security awareness and vigilance; Security organization and company policy; Access and escape the ship; Communication Ship-shore /port facility/d.o.s.; Security; Security surveys; Risk assessment; Contingency planning; Training and exercise on board. 12 Slinger and Banksman Objectives: This course will provide people involved with rigging & slinging with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge regarding banksman and slinger Correct use of hand signal communication to ensure safe lifting operations. 14 Works at height 3 Day Training Objectives: Work at heights has peculiar characteristics and requires special attention to each movement because the worker must be safe. The course aims to establish the necessary procedures to carry out work at a height, aiming to guarantee the safety and physical integrity of the workers who perform this type of work, as well as the protection of those in nearby areas.
