2 PREFACE This document has been developed to give suppliers in Canada information how to ship product and material to Beach Mold and Tool Virginia, Inc. Emporia VA The supplier is responsible to ensure that the proper lead-times and purchase orders apply to each shipment being imported to our facility in Emporia, VA. The supplier is responsible to comply with this inbound/import freight routing guide to prevent freight bill back and other charges if the instructions listed are deviated. Beach Mold and Tool, Inc. have several initiatives in place aimed at reducing costs and lead times, as well as improving quality and productivity. Inbound Transportation Management is an effort encompassing all of these initiatives through the partnership between Purchasing, Logistics and our Suppliers. This Inbound Routing Guide lists our preferred carrier, forwarders and appointed brokers with whom we have both price and quality commitments. Use this routing guide and compliance with the incorporated instructions, on your part, with help of Beach Mold and Tool, Inc. meet many of its cost and service objectives. 3 Inbound Routing Guide Introduction The purpose of this guide is to inform our suppliers of the standards that we expect to be followed on all inbound freight movements. The routing guide instructs the supplier on which carrier or forwarder to use on all inbound international shipments into the United States. This guide also provides additional guidelines that should follow on all shipments. All instructions are mandatory. Failure to comply with this routing guide may result in charge back of all freight charges. Standard delivery of material from all suppliers is via the most economical surface mode, unless otherwise authorized. Shipments must arrive on the due date or within five (5) days prior to the due date. NAFTA Compliance Please make sure all proper NAFTA documentation (Certificate of Origin) has been filed properly for all shipments that are NAFTA compliant. Preventative Damage/Claims Damaged freight will be handled according to the severity of damage. As listed elsewhere in this guide the following action on the part of the supplier will reduce potential damages. 1. Proper sized pallets to prevent product overhang. 2. Proper stacking height to avoid carton and product crushing. 3. Use of corner boards on the top and sides of palletized product to reduce corner crushing. 4. Tighter tension on at least three (3) layers of shrink-wrap to avoid shifting of cartons. 5. Use of banding material on palletized shipments to avoid shifting of cartons. Palletizing Specifications The following specifications are intended to provide reasonable protection for product during transportation to reduce product damage. The weight, density or size of the product may place additional requirements on suppliers to fully protect products during transit. Beach Mold and Tool VA, Inc. will not be responsible for damaged product due to lack of proper packaging, palletizing and or shipment preparation. Pallet Size All products are to be delivered to Beach Mold and Tool, VA Inc. on a standard 40 x 48 fourway entry wood pallet. The pallets must be made of non-coniferous wood. 4

5 Palletizing Arrange products / cartons on pallets to avoid overhanging the pallet. Product overhang reduces the strength of the bottom layer of cartons by as much as 30 percent (%). Proper product alignment reduces the possibility of side impact damage during the carrier loading and unloading process. Proper Stacking Cartons should be stacked on top of the other. Avoid interlocking cartons as this reduces cartons as this reduces carton compression strength. Stacked cartons must not overhang the pallet. Carton stacking height is best within the four to five foot height range. Optimum stacking height depends on individual carton weight. Stacking heavier weighted cartons lower results in greater palletized stability during transit. Banding Banding cartons to the pallet decreases the potential for load shifting and carton damage. This is important for both heavy and lightweight cartons. 5
