2 McCormick Ambulance Founded 1961 Founded in 1961 by Mary Agnes McCormick (the company s current CEO s, Joe Chidley, grandmother) In 2002, Westmed Ambulance, Inc., owned by Joe Chidley and his partners, purchased McCormick from Joe s cousins

7 Company Highlights McCormick structures its in house billing division with 8 individual departments (Pre Billing, Verifying, Data Entry, MediCal, Medicare, Back Billing/Collections, Deposits and Information Technology) which enables billing personnel to specialize in each A/R function McCormick Ambulance has developed a sophisticated Pre Billing department to maximize reimbursements; including a full time Patient Recovery Manager

15 McCormick Ambulance is an Experienced Disaster Responder: Hurricane Katrina Response The company spent 31 days in the City of New Orleans providing emergency services, without compensation, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina Due to the company s disaster and 911 experience, McCormick Ambulance was asked by the City of New Orleans Medical Director and EMS Chief to assume all EMS duties since many of the ambulances were destroyed and/or because local employees could not make it to work McCormick Ambulance was essentially the EMS provider for the City of New Orleans for 31 days, switching ambulance crews every 10 days

16 McCormick Ambulance s Team of Disaster Specialists (RED Team) The RED Team, Rapid Emergency Deployment Team, was created subsequent to hurricanes Katrina and Rita RED Team members are trained for the specialized use of emergency equipment including disaster units, the mobile communications and command trailer, the fuel tender, the mobile generator, the disaster service trailer, and the special equipment trailer RED Team members must frequently attend drills and complete the following courses: bio terrorism course, ICS 100, 200, 288, and NIMS 700 or 704

23 McCormick Ambulance Utilizes the Most Current and Sophisticated Technologies The company currently utilizes: GPS Logic AVL, ZOLL RescueNet Billing and Collections Software, ZOLL RescueNet Computer Aided Dispatching Software, WhenToWork.com scheduling software, Bamboo certification tracking software and HealthEMS epcr software A CAD to CAD interface will be implemented between McCormick s ZOLL CAD software and the City s CAD (Spillman) system upon award of contract A portable computer, ASUS Q200E, is on board each ambulance with HealthEMS epcr software installed. CAD information (time stamps, address, etc.) will automatically populate the ambulance crew s epcr as well as crew entered patient assessment and treatment information (chief complaint, vital signs, interventions)

24 Rapid Start Up Capabilities for the Torrance Fire Department Ambulance Contract McCormick Ambulance s existing operations in the South Bay and West Los Angeles County provide an ideal situation for a rapid start up for the contract McCormick Ambulance has a total fleet size of 66 ambulances, including 15 brand new Type III ambulances McCormick Ambulance has 5 brand new Type III Torrance dedicated 24 hour ambulances The company has signed a lease with Hamilton Avenue in Torrance that will serve as McCormick s center of operations and include executive offices, the EMT school, the Communications Center and a crew sub station McCormick Ambulance has available personnel in place including: a management team of 14, 6 billing employees, 50 field employees (including 3 Crew Chiefs, 3 FTOs and 3 Field Supervisors) and Communications Center employees, and 6 support employees
