1 Installation through Innovation NaviPac 3 Day Training Course 18 th 20th June 2012 Blackwell Grange Hotel, Darlington, England

2 As a result of the high level of activity in the offshore construction sector during recent months the apparent shortage of skilled personnel with specific experience in the EIVA NaviPac suite has been highlighted within the industry, as a result Subsea Renewables are hosting a 3 day EIVA NaviPac Training Course. The EIVA Approved course will provide delegates with a full understanding of the configuration and use of NaviPac in an online environment. The NaviPac Suite is growing in popularity and has become one of the primary Navigation suites of choice for the offshore construction industry. The suite provides automated managing and storing of survey data during any offshore operation. Together with simple display abilities NaviPac has become a firm favorite with may freelance personnel. Although the package itself is fairly straight forward to operate the big issue for employers is demonstratable competence in its use. Gone are the days when a CV full of experience was sufficient to guarantee a place on the offshore team, with many employers now having to supply personnel with evidence of adequate training to stay within their own QHSE systems training matrix competency requirements. This 3 day training course provides the user with the fundamental skills required to use the features of NaviPac competently. The delivery is by an EIVA trained and approved trainer, with certification provided by EIVA for those completing the course. Course Outline Over the period of 3 days each delegate will learn the fundimentals of how the NaviPac system operates and how to establish and maintain an installation. The course starts with an introduction to the company (EIVA), discussion of general support available to users etc. Each user will then go through the process of installing their own NaviPac system onto their individually allocated PCs. This is followed by an overview of the organisation of the software package to enable to user to understand where the application defaults to storing data and configuration information. The trainer will then walk the users through the configuration of the package, including the entry of Geodetic Parameters, Objects, Instrument settings etc to provide the user with an understanding of how to establish a basic 1

3 project using the system. Each delegate will perform various exercises using the software during the course to further their practical understanding of the system. Delegates are taken through the online abilities of the system, through practical hands on use of each system component such that they should have an operational understanding of them. This process includes, but is not limited to, the following components; Navigation Object Positions GPS Status Attitudes I/O Monitor Raw Data Instrument Spy Alarm Monitor Data Acquisition Event Settings Calibrations Calculations Data Logging EIVA Stat(EOL Reporting) Report Generator Online QC Tool Delegates will be instructed in the configuration and use of the Helmsmans Display including how to configure views, objects, run lines, waypoints, background files (GeoTiffs etc). Technical details such as establishing the connection to NaviPac will also be included in this part of the program. On completion of the course Delegates will receive a final exercise to allow the Trainer to verify that they have learned the required skills to operate the system competently. About the Trainer Training will be provided by EIVA Denmark s Jan Hess who joined EIVA in1995, having spent several years previous to this at Svitzer Survey, and is heavily experienced in Data collection & Processing, Mapping and reporting, Rig Moves, Cable Route Surveys, Acoustic Surveys and Debris Clearance Surveys to name but a few.
