2 What s changing and why? Australia Post is making a major investment in new mail processing equipment that will increase the level of automation and provide a more efficient mail network. This investment is necessary and important to ensure the long term viability of our mail network to you and all Australians. To support this major investment in mail processing equipment, significant changes will be required to key areas of the Print Post service. These changes will take effect from 19 March 018. This document provides a summary of key changes to help customers who prepare their own mail. A more detailed information pack Helping you prepare for your upcoming Print Post changes can be found at auspost.com.au/printpostchanges Key date Changes come into effect on 19 March 018. Mar 19 The Print Post Service Guide ( Guide ) details Australia Post s instructions on how to qualify for, prepare and lodge Print Post. An advance copy of the Guide with changes effective from 19 March 018, has been prepared and is available now on our website at auspost.com.au/printpostchanges Within this document, there are references to the relevant section(s) of the Guide for full details of the new requirements. What are the changes? Changes to Print Post preparation and lodgement Sort categories and sort plans The current Print Post sort categories (Large Postcode Direct, Small Postcode Direct and Residue) will be replaced by Postcode Direct, Area Direct and Residue. For Print Post small sized articles, only the Residue sort category will be available. Sort plan changes will take effect for each state except ACT, TAS and NT. Refer to sections. and.. in the Guide for more information. Sort categories and minimum volumes Revised qualifying volumes will apply for large sized articles. Area Direct thresholds will allow for large articles addressed to a sort division containing multiple postcodes. This will increase the volume of large articles from the current Residue category that can qualify for lower postage rates. Refer to section. in the Guide for more information.

3 What are the changes? (cont.) Preparation of letter trays From 19 March 018, Postcode Direct, Area Direct and Residue trays containing large articles needs to be prepared to the new guidelines. Refer to sections. and.4 in the Guide for more information. Preparation of ULDs For same state lodgements, articles must be stacked in trays (exceptions apply to approved large volume senders). For other state lodgements, articles can be stacked in trays or bundles. New conditions and business rules apply for ULD consolidation and top-up. Refer to sections 5 in the Guide for more information. Barcoding Barcoding is optional for lodgements containing less than,000 articles per publication. For lodgements containing,000 or more articles per publication a minimum barcode threshold of 80 per cent per publication must be achieved to avoid a surcharge, calculated on the difference between the minimum threshold (80 per cent) and the barcoding rate achieved. Refer to sections.8 in the Guide for more information. Delivery address zone On all large articles, the complete delivery address (and barcode if present) must be positioned outside of the yellow label zone. Refer to sections.7. and.7. in the Guide for more information. Lodgement documentation A Print Post Manifest (previously referred to as Print Post supporting document) is required for each lodgement of,000 or more articles (previously 5,000 articles). Refer to section.6. in the Guide for more information. For more detailed information on all the changes, including plastic wrapping requirements, refer to the more detailed information pack Helping you prepare for your upcoming Print Post changes, available at auspost.com.au/printpostchanges Changes to Print Post and ULD Linehaul pricing structures A new simplified Print Post pricing structure with revised prices is being introduced for both Priority and Regular timetables. ULD Linehaul pricing will also be changed, with a new 'Single Plan' and 'Mixed Plan' pricing structure introduced. Full details of the future pricing structures and proposed pricing can be found in the Helping you prepare for your upcoming Print Post changes information pack, available at auspost.com.au/printpostchanges Note: There is no change to the Priority or Regular delivery standards.

4 Fast facts 1 4 Major changes will be introduced to key areas of Print Post from 19 March 018. New Sort categories and Sort plans will be introduced. Only the Residue category will be available for small size articles. Trays to be prepared as per new guidelines. A simplified pricing structure will be available for both Priority and Regular delivery. Your checklist 1 Review the changes to preparation, lodgement and pricing.
