1 2010 Basketball Student Ticket Lottery Procedures Student tickets for basketball will be distributed through a hybrid online/in-person lottery system for the season. Please read all instructions carefully to ensure that you understand how to participate in the lotteries. There are several important dates that students need to be aware of during the process. Note: Text in red reflects changes that have been made since Lottery #1. Eligibility: You must be a full-time UK student for the semester in which the distribution occurs 12+ hours for undergraduates, 9+ hours for graduate students. Your athletics fee must also be paid with your tuition. i. For the first two lotteries (11/15 and 12/6) you must be eligible for the fall semester. ii. For the last two lotteries (1/24 and 2/14) you must be eligible for the spring semester. Full-time students at BCTC must register and pay the athletics fee online through The athletics fee must be paid for each semester. BCTC students living in UK Housing will automatically be assessed by Housing for all fees, including the athletics fee. Eligible BCTC students (see above) should contact the athletics ticket office to set up a ticket account, PRIOR to 1. The ticket office will need your name, address, phone number, address, 9-digit BCTC ID number, and social security number to set up your ticket account. UK students will automatically have a ticket account set up for them. First Distribution (no lottery): The first student distribution will occur on, October 18 at the Joe Craft Center ticket office, beginning at. This distribution is for the following games: Pikeville (11/1), Dillard (11/5), and East Tennessee State (11/12). There will be NO LOTTERY for these games, as tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Joe Craft Center ticket office. Beginning, October 18, both student tickets ($5 each) and guest tickets ($40/$35 each) will be available. For this distribution, students may bring a maximum of five (5) student IDs to the ticket office to purchase up to five (5) student tickets per game. Any unclaimed student tickets will be sold to the general public beginning, October 20 at.

2 Regular Season Lotteries (see attached calendar for dates): 1. Online Registration Period: a. of Online Registration Week: i. Eligible students will receive a reminder from the ticket office notifying them that online registration has opened. All s from the ticket office will include your Account ID and Password to access the online ticketing system. Note BCTC students must contact the ticket office in advance to set up an account (see page 1 above), in order to receive an . ii. If you do not receive a reminder with your log-in information, please call the UK Ticket Office, as you may not be eligible for student tickets. iii. Your Account ID and Password will stay the same throughout the season. If you ordered student season football tickets, you will use the same account ID and password. b. through at : i. Eligible students should visit and click My UK Student Account. Students should enter their Account ID and their Password, which they will receive from the UK Ticket Office via Tips: Do not use your address to log-in, and do not set up a new account. Also, do not click on the regular My UK Account. That is for nonstudent season ticket holders. If you attempt to log-in to the non-student account manager, you will not see the lottery question. ii. Under the Quick Links box on the left hand side, click Account Settings and then Edit Personal Preferences. iii. Answer the question named Student Basketball Lottery 11/15/10 and click Update Account. Subsequent lotteries will have the appropriate date. iv. If you answer yes, you will be entered into the online lottery. v. Online Registration will run until afternoon at. If you have not answered the question yes by at, you will NOT be entered into the lottery. vi. The only way to register for the lottery is through your My UK Student Account. Students may NOT call the ticket office to register for the lottery. vii. If you get an error message and cannot log-in to your account, you may not be eligible for student tickets. You may call the ticket office at (800) to check your status if this occurs. Office hours are Friday, 4:00 pm. 2. Student Selection/Notification: a. Evening after Online Registration Deadline: i. The UK Ticket Office will conduct a random draw to select the winners of the online registration process. Each student who answered the question yes will have an equal chance of being selected in the draw. The number of winning students will be determined by how many tickets are available. b. Thursday Morning: i. Winning students will be notified via from the UK Ticket Office. 1. Only these winning students will be eligible to attend the night lottery at Memorial Coliseum. This is an important change from prior years. Thus, all winning students who attend the night lottery will be guaranteed a ticket to each game at that lottery.

3 ii. Students who are not selected as winners will also be notified via These students will NOT be eligible to attend the night lottery at Memorial Coliseum. See Part 4 below for details on the distribution of unclaimed tickets. iii. Winning selections are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Thus, if you enter the online registration process and are selected as a winner, you may not transfer your spot in the actual lottery to another student. 3. Lottery Night at Memorial Coliseum a. Evening of Lottery Week: i. Doors will open at ; lottery will begin at 9:00 pm. ii. Entry into Memorial Coliseum: 1. Remember, only the winners selected in the random draw will be eligible to attend the actual lottery. If you were not selected as a winning student, your student ID will not scan correctly, and you will not be admitted into the Coliseum for the lottery. 2. Students will enter the Coliseum via the front doors on Euclid Avenue. 3. Students will proceed up the east ramp to obtain their lottery number. Lottery numbers will be distributed in groups of 100. If you wish to sit with other students who are attending the lottery, you will need to get your lottery numbers at the same time. 4. All students will sit on the east side of the Coliseum. 5. If there are questions about your status for the lottery (i.e. you do not know if you were selected to attend the lottery or not), you can check the list at the front ticket windows before you enter the building. iii. Drawing of Numbers/Procession of Groups: 1. Once the lottery begins, the order of the groups will be posted on the jumbotron for all students to see. 2. As each group is called, students in that particular group will line up on the balcony in the designated areas. Students should have their lottery number and student ID in their hands at all times. 3. Students will be directed into the ticket office lobby and proceed to the ticket windows to purchase tickets. a. Students who wish to sit together must go to the same window to purchase tickets. b. Seating groups will be limited to ten (10) students each. c. Updated as of Lottery #2 All Erupption Zone tickets will be sold at the first two ticket windows. If you want to buy Erupption Zone tickets, you must choose them for each game you are buying. Students may not select Erupption Zone for some games and regular seats for other games. iv. Purchasing Tickets: 1. Before getting to the window, students should decide how many tickets their seating group needs for each game. Students will be given the best available seats. a. At the Erupption Zone windows, seating groups do not matter, since these seats are general admission. 2. Students may purchase one (1) ticket per game. You may NOT bring additional IDs to purchase additional tickets. 3. One at a time, each student will give their student ID to the staff member at the ticket window, along with their payment. 4. Students may pay with CASH or CHECK ONLY.

4 4. Unclaimed Tickets: a. If paying by check, each student should have their OWN CHECK. We can no longer allow students to share checks. b. Checks should be made out to UK Athletics. c. Students should have their phone number and student ID number written on their check, BEFORE they get to the window. 5. After payment is received, students will be given their tickets and must exit the building via the ticket office lobby doors. 6. On game days, all students should enter Rupp Arena via the High Street entrance, with their student ticket and student ID. v. Spouse Tickets: 1. If you are a married student, you may purchase one additional ticket per game for your spouse. The spouse ticket will be at regular price ($40 or $35). Spouse tickets may not be purchased in the Erupption Zone. a. Students who wish to use this privilege should visit the ticket office in advance to receive a spouse card. You will need to bring a copy of your marriage license to receive a spouse card. When purchasing your tickets, you must present your spouse card, in addition to your student ID, at the ticket windows. b. Updated as of Lottery #2 If you are purchasing spouse tickets, you will submit your order and payment at the ticket windows on the night of the lottery. You will then need to return to the ticket office later in the week to claim your actual tickets. a. Morning after Lottery: i. Any student tickets that are unclaimed from the night lottery will go on sale at at the Joe Craft Center ticket office. ii. At this point, tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. iii. Students may bring a maximum of two (2) student IDs to the ticket office to purchase tickets. iv. Students can check the student ticket website late on night after the lottery to see if any tickets will be available on morning. v. Students who purchase tickets at the lottery on night are NOT eligible to purchase student tickets again on, as your student ID will be invalid. b. Morning after Lottery: i. Any student tickets that are still unclaimed after and will be sold as Guest Tickets on at at the Joe Craft Center ticket office. 1. If student tickets sell out on or, NO guest tickets will be available on. Based on past years experience, we do not anticipate having guest tickets for several of our biggest games this season. 2. Students can check the student ticket website late on night to see if any guest tickets will be available on. Students will be limited in the number of guest tickets they can buy for any particular game. The guest ticket limits will be set on night, and will be posted on the student ticket website. ii. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. iii. Guest tickets are $40 for lower level and $35 for upper level. iv. Previously purchased student tickets CANNOT be converted into guest tickets. c. Evening after Lottery: i. Any tickets that are still unclaimed will be sold to the general public through Ticketmaster. At this point, tickets typically sell out very quickly. Once tickets are sold out, they are no longer available to students, guests, or the general public.

5 Notice Regarding Scalping of Tickets: Act 518, 070. A person is guilty of ticket scalping when he/she intentionally sells or offers to sell a ticket to an event at a price greater than that charged at the place of admission or printed on the ticket, unless authorized by the issuer or by law. Ticket scalping is a violation, and any person who sells a ticket to any sporting event at a price in excess of the price appearing on the ticket shall be fined. Selling a ticket above the printed face value violates University of Kentucky policy and Kentucky state law. Selling or soliciting the sale of a ticket (even at face value) on campus without a permit also violates University policy. Therefore, a violation of these University policies or this Kentucky law may result in your ineligibility in purchase basketball tickets, even if criminal charges are not filed. The Athletic Department and Dean of Students Office reserves the right to declare you ineligible to participate in ticket lotteries if we receive sufficient evidence that a ticket assigned to you was sold for more than face value, or a student ticket assigned to you was used by someone other than a UK student. Please safeguard your tickets, as the original purchaser is ultimately responsible for their proper use.
