2 Final Analytics Report 2

3 TedXUTAustin Competitor s Report Number of followers: 81 Average number of tweets per day: <1 They only have 3 original tweets, 2 are right hooks and 1 is a jab. Does this account regularly reply to students? No The Twitter account is very new so there is not a whole lot of content to look at. However, TEDxTexasStateUniversity does not even have an active Twitter account, I think it could be beneficial to be more active on Twitter. This page has gotten a little success, especially from the videos that were tweeted. Facebook: Number of followers: 2,513 Number of posts in the past three months: 5 3 videos, 1 text, 1 photo Avg likes per post, avg comments per post, and avg shares per post The Facebook page seems to be performing quite well, especially the videos. They have an appropriate number of pots, enough to stay relevant but so much that they blow up their followers news feeds. They are getting overall more shares than the TEDxTexasStateUniversity Facebook page, so I would say to maybe incorporate more high definition, edited, and visually pleasing videos to the Facebook content. Number of followers: 50 Number of posts in the past three months: 1 Their Instagram only has one video, the same one that is pinned on their Facebook and Twitter account. The video and caption are leaning more towards being a right hook. They are both calling their followers to action as they say "join us" and "apply now to be a speaker." No likes or comments; 127 views on only post Again, the account is very new so it does not have a lot to consider. The TEDxTexasStateUniversity Instagram page is performing well, it is visually pleasing to look at and the followers seem to be liking the content. Something to consider for next year is maybe to have the speakers released in a video rather than in photos. Since this is also a TED organized event/organization, the social media policies directly correlate to those that are set in place for the TEDxTexasStateUniversity event. There are restrictions on logos, wording, colors, imagery, etc. that are used for promoting the event. 3

4 Future Content TEDxTexasStateUniversity s social media content has performed rather well since the start of the semester. Overall, the Facebook page has performed a little better than the Instagram page because it has a bigger following than the Instagram page. The Facebook page has gained 114 more likes and 116 more followers since the beginning of the semester. Most of the content posted on Facebook has received a good amount of engagement and been well-received by followers. Average post engagement has gone down, overall. However, I do think it is just because you had a lot more posts in the last month, and a few of them had little to no engagement, which brought down the overall average engagement. Although the engagement on Facebook has been adequate, there is still a lot of room for growth. The Instagram account is, overall, underdeveloped even through there have been a decent amount of posts, obtaining more followers would help with engagement. Great ways to obtain more followers on Instagram are: Search for students that go to Texas State by searching Texas State related hashtags, such as #TXST #TXST2019 #TXST2020 #TXST2021 #TXST2022 #TXST2023. Searching these hashtags will lead to people who have these hashtags in their bios and in their posts. Most likely, they will follow back or at least look at your page. Hold a giveaway! It doesn t need to be anything big a t-shirt, restaurant gift-card, store gift-card, etc. Most Instagram pages post giveaways and gain a good amount of new followers because they require people who enter to follow their page, tag a friend, and share their giveaway post. To spread awareness about the event, maybe there could even be a ticket giveaway. Another suggestion that I have for TEDxTexasStateUniversity is to create a Twitter account. Twitter is a platform that gets a lot of attention, especially from college-aged people, which is the main target audience. One retweet-worthy post can bring a lot of traffic to your page and, as a result, more followers and reach. High-definition videos/pictures can receive a high number of likes/retweets if you frame it correctly with a good caption. Twitter is the perfect platform for reaching a good number of people with little content or effort if it s engaging content, that is. The actual event is the focus of the entire organization/social media pages. There needs to be better coverage of the event in better quality. I m not sure if there are better photos of the event out there, but the ones posted to the Facebook account were blurry and bad-quality. The last thing people want to see on social media is bad-quality photos. Seeing photos like this on your platforms could even cause the organization to lose credibility in the eyes of some followers. Posting thorough and high-quality coverage of the event should be the highest priority, over any other content posted the entire rest of the year. 4
