5 European Electricity Electricity in Europe is volts, 50 hertz. Electricity in the U.S. is 110 volts. WorldStrides recommends that participants bring a converter and plug adapter for electrical appliances.

7 Luggage Remember: Your suitcase size should not exceed 54 inches (height + depth + weight) or weigh more than 44 pounds when packed - leave room for souvenirs! Your carry on (most likely a backpack) should not exceed 39 inches (height + depth + width) or weigh more than 11 pounds when packed remember this is a 10 day not a 30 day adventure!

8 European Travel Expect the hotels to be very accommodating but a lot smaller than you are used to. The elevators will be tight. The showers will be small. Most of the time, we will be expected to leave our room key with the front desk. Make sure you have a working alarm clock in your room. Wake-up calls will be done. Bring hairdryers, curlers, etc. to share. Don t be surprised if you have to pay for public restrooms. YOU MUST SLEEP ON THE AIRPLANE!!

9 Zap Zone We will be going to the Zap Zone in Canton for a Team Building Activity for our next meeting. Please return the permission slip to Mr. Davenport by Friday, 12/2 to reserve your spot. You will pay for yourself. We would like to play 2 games together. You may want to play arcade games. We will provide pizza and water before.

10 Zap Zone Wednesday, December 21, 2016 Zap Zone at Ford Rd. Canton, MI. Plan to meet at 3:45 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. (the three leaders will provide pizza and water at 3:45 in the parking lot Zap Zone opens at 4:00 p.m.)

11 Passports Did apply for your passport yet? Did you enter the information on the website? You do not want to run out of time!

12 Requirements of Travelers All student ambassadors are expected to be at every meeting. Please talk to your coaches and bosses about being late on the scheduled meeting dates. It is your responsibility to share all materials and handouts, ASAP, with your parents and/or guardians and attend all informational meetings unless excused by your leaders. It is our responsibility to treat you as the young adult you are!

13 Passport Information passports/apply.html Remember when taking your passport pictures, make sure you receive 2 pictures. The leaders will make copies for students to carry with them while in Europe. The leaders will keep the original passports during the trip. If you have a passport, the expiration date must be six-months past March 30, September 30, 2017

16 WorldStrides International Payments TO AVOID LATE FEES, WORLDSTRIDES REQUIRES THEY RECEIVE THE PAYMENT BY THE DUE DATE - NOT POSTMARKED OR ELECTRONICLY POSTED ON THE DUE DATE BUT RECEIVED BY THE DUE DATE! Once your payment is processed, WORLDSTRIDES will mail OR you a confirmation number to use in future payments. If you have NOT heard from WORLDSTRIES or if you have any other concerns or questions, ASAP call and ask for the Student Service Department. To avoid expensive late fees, please follow payment due dates on your payment plan. If you are not using WorldStrides online EZpay plan, the leaders suggest that all mail or electronic bank procedures be completed at least one week early - to make sure that you avoided any late fee. Payments by mail should have Mr. Davenport, BHS, and the traveler ID# written on the memo line of the check.
