3 Introduction Overview These Intel Cluster Ready trademark and text treatment usage guidelines are designed for original equipment manufacturers (OEM), Independent Software Vendors (ISV), Platform Integrators (PI), and Component Vendors (CV) who have entered into a trademark license with Intel for the use of the Intel Cluster Ready trademark with certified hardware cluster solutions, registered software solutions or certified components. The Intel Cluster Ready name and text treatment signify the compliance of the cluster solution with the Intel Cluster Ready specification and passing the tests of the Intel Cluster Checker. Once the solution has completed and passed the tests, the solution is deemed to be Intel Cluster Ready. The Intel Cluster Ready name represents to the cluster buyer the compatibility, reliability and quality of the components in that cluster. Proper Target Audiences The Intel Cluster Ready name and text treatment should only be used by OEMS, ISVs, PIs, and Component Vendors that are licensed to use the Intel Cluster Ready mark on certified cluster solutions. 4 Sizing To maintain the legibility of the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment, minimum size requirements have been set for reproduction in various applications. Print Minimum Size For most print applications, the minimum size is.65 wide. Online Minimum Size A 46-pixel wide version is available for use in online applications..65 wide for print 46 pixels wide for online Clear Space To reinforce communication goals and maintain the strength of the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment, set it apart from surrounding design elements by maintaining a constant clear space around it. In all applications, the clear space size is measured by the height of the capital letters (cap height) in the text treatment. The area surrounding the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment should be even and free from typography, illustration, or other graphic elements whenever possible. 5 Backgrounds Whenever possible, place the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment on a clean, clear, solid background. Note, when the text treatment is used on a colored, photographic or patterned background, there must be significant contrast. Place the text treatment on a white or a solid background of good contrast whenever possible. Place the text treatment on a patterned background only when there is significant contrast. Incorrect Usage Do not redraw or modify the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment in any way. Do not use italics or drop shadows. Do not add graphic elements. Leave existing trademark symbols intact. 6 Co-Marketing Scenarios The Intel Cluster Ready text treatment may appear with a maximum of two other logos per device, screen or marketing communications vehicle. The Intel Cluster Ready text treatment should be proportionate to other logos and text treatments it appears beside. Additionally, Intel Cluster Ready should be sized so that the words and are clearly legible and it meets the minimum sizing requirements on page 4. Sizing Relationships for Marketing Collateral As a general rule, match the height of Intel within the text treatment with the height of other text logos. Exceptions to this rule may be made for OEM or PIs whose logos are symbols or very short wordmarks. In those cases, the proportions of the OEM or PI must be a abcoem percentage of the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment. The text treatment must not be used in conjunction with Intel competitors logos. It should be placed away from the other logos so as to not confuse it with OEM or Reseller. 7 Reproduction Specifications The Intel Cluster Ready text treatment print files have been created in vector format using Adobe Illustrator* 8. The print files are exported EPS files. You can use them as placed graphics in most page layout and illustration software. Do not use a print file for onscreen/rich media applications, or vice versa. These files have been carefully adjusted for size, resolution, and color balance for each format and are not interchangeable. * Other names and brands may be claimed as the property of others. 8 Trademark Usage Proper acknowledgement of Intel s trademarks is required. Whenever the trademark or text treatment appears, the appropriate acknowledgement line must also appear as a footnote: When using the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment only: Intel, Intel Cluster Ready and the Intel Cluster Ready text treatment are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U.S. and other countries. When using the Intel Cluster Ready word mark only: Intel and Intel Cluster Ready are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U.S. and other countries. Proper usage rules include: The appropriate use of trademark symbols with this trademark is as follows: Intel Cluster Ready This name should be used in its complete form as noted above. Never hyphenate or abbreviate this name. Do not change the capitalization, unless used in a heading where normal capitalization rules apply. The mark Intel must always be used with this name because this is a unitary trademark with Intel as an integral part of the whole trademark; thus, Intel must always be used in the mark (e.g., the entire trademark is Intel Cluster Ready). Cluster Ready should never be used alone. Use the trademark symbol in the first appearance of the name in a headline, and/or the first prominent use and first appearance in the body of text. Never incorporate the Intel Cluster Ready trademark or any part of the Intel Cluster Ready trademark into a third party s company name, product brand name or model number.
