2 When and where is it? cookiewow! 2018 takes place on January 13 th 10:00am-3:00pm at the New York State Fairgrounds, 581 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, NY. The event will be in the Center of Progress Building (moved from Horticulture Building) Enter at Gate 2 on State Fair Boulevard and stop at the guard shack. Follow the event parking signs to the Center of Progress Building. Please enter through the main doors of the building, as all other entrances will be locked for the duration of the event. How do I register? Visit gsnypenn/cookiewow and click on REGISTER NOW! Early bird registration ended on 11/30. Standard registration is $10.00 per person. Children under 5 years of age are free, but still need to register. The deadline to register is 1/12/18 at midnight. Note: nominal processing fees are added to the ticket price. You will receive a confirmation with instructions on how to access and print your tickets. This event is open to the public. If you are wondering what it is like to be a Girl Scout, come join us for the day. Visitor tickets are available for purchase! When will we get information about our 2 free tickets from the Fall Product Program? The Fall Product Program ends November 27. After that date, the NYPENN Product Sales team will be reaching out to all girls and their parents who earned free tickets. Instructions will be provided and the team will work with the girls and their parent on registering for the cookiewow! event. Will the 2017 top cookie sellers be there? Yes! Our 2017 top cookie sellers will be invited to attend as VIPs. Will you take walk-ins? We will take walk-ins the day of the event for $15.00 a person. But don t wait -- it s best to register now as we may be sold out by that day! Is an overnight event planned? Yes, there will be an overnight opportunity at WonderWorks in Destiny USA. 3 Are there overnight accommodations? Yes, overnight accommodations are available at Embassy Suites by Hilton Syracuse Destiny USA, January We ve reserved a limited block of rooms at a discount rate of $139 per night. The hotel is located next to the mall at 311 Hiawatha Boulevard West, Syracuse. Our group name for booking purposes is Girlscout Cookie Wow. Rate includes a room with 2 queen beds, complimentary breakfast, evening manager s reception with complimentary beverages and discounts at Destiny USA. You can book one or both nights as part of the promotion. How do I check in when I get there? Please PRINT YOUR TICKETS and bring them with you. We will scan your tickets at the registration gates. If all members of your party are checking in at once, you may wish to use the Eventbrite app to check in. Just have the app open on your mobile device so the tickets are ready to scan as you approach the registration gates. Visitors should check in at the Registration Desk. Do I have to be there for the entire time? We don t have a strict schedule (see timeframes below), but you won t want to miss the 10:30am pep rally, immediately followed by our attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD TM for number of people simultaneously dunking cookies in a beverage! 4 What should I bring? Be sure to bring your PRINTED tickets or your mobile device so we can scan your tickets online. And to have the best experience possible, we recommend you consider bringing the following: a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, your lunch or cash for purchasing lunch or snacks from our food vendor, and money for shopping at the Girl Scout Boutique. Please note that we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. How do I register to volunteer for cookiewow? If you are a Girl Scout volunteer, Senior Girl Scout or Ambassador Girl Scout wishing to help out at the event, go to gsnypenn.org/cookiewow and click on I WANT TO VOLUNTEER! to sign up. We will contact you to confirm your participation. Event volunteer time slots are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or Noon-4 p.m. Perks include an event staff t-shirt, free event admission, complimentary lunch and a chance to make new friends while helping the council! Bonus Opportunity for a Senior or Ambassador troop! Big trip planned for your troop? We re offering a money earning activity to one lucky, randomly selected S/A troop volunteering at cookiewow! This troop will run the coat check room and keep all gratuities collected! Two adults and five girls must volunteer and be present to qualify. Shift runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact us at info@gsnypenn.org if you are interested! Will there be food for purchase? We will have a food vendor on site selling lunchtime favorites and snack items. Please bring cash to purchase items from the food vendor. You may also bring your own food to the event, and we have a lot of seating available. Will the Girl Scout Boutique be there? Our Girl Scout Boutique will be present and open during cookiewow! In addition to the great items you would usually find in our stores, there will also be some special items. If you or your girls wish to shop, don t forget your wallets! Please note: We will not have Core items (e.g. uniforms, pins, badges, journey books). The Boutique will accept cash, and the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard and Discover. A limited supply of cookiewow! tshirts will be available the day of the event for $15.00-$18.50 (plus tax). 12/13/17 Page 4 of 5

5 Will there be a patch? Each attendee will receive a patch specially made for attending the cookiewow! event. What kind of supervision is required? Girls must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. More than 1,500 people will be at this event and the facility is large. Never send girls to the restroom alone. If a girl is found wandering alone, she will be taken to the Help Desk and will remain there until an adult comes to pick her up. Buddy pairs are not acceptable for this event adult supervision of girls is required at all times. Is this event a peanut-free zone? There are peanuts in some varieties of our Girl Scout cookies areas with cookies will be marked with peanut signage. Where do I go if I have an emergency? If you have an emergency and need first aid, please visit the Help Desk. Will there be security on site? Yes, and we will only use one entrance to the building during this event. The security of this entrance will be monitored at all times throughout the day. Will there be somewhere after the event that I can share my feedback? Because we value your feedback and want each cookiewow! event to be better than the one before, evaluating the program is critical to the success of next year s event. During the week immediately following the event, you will receive an with a link to an evaluation survey.
