Write an equation to represent this situation, and use it to determine the amount of money Eli should charge for each slice of cake. 8. An electric guitar and amp set costs $2389. You are going to pay $550 as a down payment, and pay the rest in equal monthly installments for one year. Write an equation to represent this situation, and use it to determine how much you should pay each month. 9. To rent a dunk tank, Modern Rental charges $150 per day. To rent the same tank, Budgetwise charges $8.50 per hour plus a $15 setup fee. Write an equation that will help you to determine the number of hours at which the two companies charge the same. Solve the equation, and write your answer in a complete sentence.

Round to the nearest tenth as needed. 12. Thirty gallons of oil flow through a pipe in 4 hours. At this rate, how long will it take 280 gallons to flow through this same pipe?

Later, the researchers capture 140 owls from the same national park, and find that 52 of them have tags. Use this information to estimate the total number of spotted owls in the park. 14. What percent of their income is spent on entertainment?
