1 How Can I get Drug Pricing Online? The Drug Pricing tool lets you search for medications before filling prescriptions at the pharmacy. Pricing is based on the your specific benefit plan and will include costs at the OptumRx Mail Service Pharmacy and local retail pharmacy. The tool will also display any lower cost options to help you make informed decisions about your medication options. To price your medication, simply follow the steps outlined below. 1 1 From the My Prescription Dashboard, select Drug Pricing from the quick links on the right hand side. 2 2 Enter the name of the prescription you would like to price or select a medication from the list of Previously Prescribed Medication. 3 3 Select Search after one of the above options have been selected. 3 Generic medications The five things you need to know 1 What is a generic medication and how is it different than a brand? A generic medication contains the same active ingredient(s), the component(s) of a medication that makes it work, as a brand medication. Generics often become available after the brand medication s patent ends. What s an active ingredient? The active ingredient is what makes the medication work. For example, Lipitor and its generic both contain atorvastatin, which reduces the amount of bad cholesterol. Brand Lipitor Active ingredient: atorvastatin = Same Active Ingredient Generic Lipitor Active ingredient: atorvastatin 2 Could a generic look different than the brand? Yes, generic medications may have a different shape or color than the brand. They might contain different inactive ingredients, such as fillers and dyes, which can give a medication its color and size. Does the shape or color change how the medication works? No, the shape or color does not impact how the medication works. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves generic medications because they contain the same active ingredient as the brand name medication. 4 3 4 How can I get a generic medication? Most retail and mail service pharmacies automatically give you a generic medication if it is available. If they don t, be sure to ask! If your doctor has specifically requested a brand, ask if a generic medication is right for you. How do I know if a generic medication is available? To find out if your medication has a generic available and costs less than your current prescription, visit the pharmacy page on myuhc.com and go to Manage My Prescriptions, then select the Price Drug tool to find if there is a generic medication available. However, there are times where the generic medication is more expensive than the brand prescription. The easiest way to find out if a generic medication costs less than a brand is go to myuhc.com. You may find lower-cost options for all your medications on myuhc.com. 6 Whether you have a new prescription or need to transfer an existing prescription, it s easy to get started with OptumRx Mail Service Pharmacy. Here is how: By Phone: Just call the member phone number on the back of your health plan ID card to talk with a customer service representative right now. It s helpful to have your health plan ID card and medication bottle available. For your convenience, the representative can also contact your doctor directly if you need a new prescription. By Mail: Ask your doctor for a new prescription for up to a three-month supply, plus refills for up to one year. Next go to myuhc.com and download the New Prescription Order Form. Then mail it to the address provided on the bottom of the form. By Fax / eprescribe: Ask your doctor to call for instructions on how to fax your prescription directly to OptumRx Mail Service Pharmacy. Or your doctor can send an electronic prescription to OptumRx Mail Service Pharmacy. Once OptumRx receives your complete order for a new prescription, your medication should arrive within 10 business days. Completed refill orders should arrive in about seven business days. 7 How Can I refill my medication? Placing an online refill order is easy! Simply follow the steps outlined below From the My Prescription Dashboard, select the Refill dropdown. The My Prescriptions Dashboard will display all medications that are available for refill. 2 Check each medication box that you would like to refill and click the Add to Cart button. 3 3 Confirm the medications in your shopping cart. 8 4 4 Confirm your shipping address and method of shipment. Here you can edit your shipping address, and update your credit card information. Once validated, select Place Order. 5 5 Your refill order has now been successfully placed. To check on the order status of your medication, simply select the Order Status button from the top navigation / United HealthCare Services, Inc. Page 19 of 21

9 How Can I Locate a Pharmacy Online? Our network includes over 64,000 retail pharmacies, including all large national chains, many local, community pharmacies and the OptumRx Mail Service Pharmacy. Simply enter your zip code and the site will display participating network pharmacies in your area, along with a map to help get you there. To locate a retail pharmacy near you: Just enter your Zip Code under Locate a Pharmacy. Click Go to provide your pharmacy search results A map will display up to 25 pharmacies that are located in your area. The red location indicator is your current location. The green location indicators are the retail pharmacies near your zip code. The tool will automatically display pharmacies in your network, but you can choose to include out-of-network pharmacies too. Select Refine Search underneath the list of network pharmacies.
