2 Dear Friend of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, : We invite you to partner with us as a sponsor for upcoming 2018 UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge to benefit Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. The UpScale ReSale is more than a design show, it is Wilmington s most creative fundraising event that supports affordable housing efforts in our community. As Director of our three area ReStores, I am committed to making this an enjoyable community event that raises substantial awareness concerning the need for affordable housing in the Cape Fear region. So far, the past three UpScale ReSale events have raised over $91,000 toward that effort. In this our 4 th year, we are determined to build off the success of past events and raise $50,000 to support our mission of building homes, communities and hope. Supporting the UpScale ReSale event will provide you with an opportunity to support local affordable housing efforts while also increasing your company brand in the community. 3 About the UpScale ReSale The UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge is a 2-day fundraising event at that brings together local designers who stage 10x10 vignettes using re-purposed merchandise and home furnishings selected from ReStore. These beautiful vignettes are then reviewed by our celebrity judges during our Friday night VIP Event, and awards are given for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place. Ticketholders then select a People s Choice Winner, and then have the opportunity to purchase the professionally re-purposed vignette items to benefit Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity ReStore established the UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge, in 2014 and has hosted the event every year except 2017 due to venue space renovations at the Schwartz Center. This year, we have a new venue, theartworks. theartworks is an art village fostering a creative environment for artists, educational opportunities, and enhancing the community through art. Since 2014, the UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge has seen 3,000 attendees, 30+ designer participants, and raised over $90,000 When: May 4 th and 5 th 2018 Where: theartworks 200 Willard St., Wilmington, NC

Our Mission: Seeking to put God s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. About Us: Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity was established in 1987 and has served more than 180 hardworking families through the construction and rehabilitation of homes in the Cape Fear region. Our families partner with us throughout the build process, and pay affordable mortgages once their home is completed. Through our homeownership program, individuals in need of affordable housing are able to build strength, stability, and selfreliance. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a not-for-profit home improvement store and donation center that benefits Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. Net proceeds sustain operating costs, fundraising expenses, and the home builds program. The affiliate celebrated its 30 th year on October 21, 2017 and ReStore has spent 17 of those years supporting Habitat s mission to build homes, communities, and hope.

5 Sponsorship The UpScale Resale & Design Competition is the area's premier design event that highlights creativity, professional design, and the magic of re-purposed home furnishings. With your help, we'll achieve our goal of raising $50,000 to support affordable homeownership for hardworking families in the Cape Fear region, and we will have a blast while doing it! To make sure we meet our goal, we've increased our digital and traditional marketing strategies to ensure broad reach and increased exposure for this year s event. Our Sponsorship levels consist of Title, Lead, Event, and Community, which offer varying levels of substantial brand exposure. We expect more than 1,000 attendees to attend the Friday Night VIP Event and our Saturday public showcase. This presents an excellent opportunity to increase positive brand awareness for your business as members of the community shop, eat, mingle, and select winners for the design competition. Brand Visibility: The Title Sponsor will be granted Presented by status. This means that your company s brand will be included on the established UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge logo and used for all digital communication and marketing purposes. Furthermore, your brand will be included in all verbal communications across radio and television platforms. Brand Visibility: The Lead Sponsor will have their company logo placed on all in-house printed marketing and promotional materials other than the exclusive banners allocated for the Title Sponsor. Printed advertising will be tiered, and your brand s logo will be placed below the Title Sponsor and above Event Sponsors. Furthermore, your brand will be specifically mentioned in verbal communications across radio and television platforms when sponsorships are discussed. Brand Recognition: Your company will receive 6 complimentary VIP event tickets and be acknowledged for its contribution in public speeches, interviews with the press, and in media coverage when there is capacity to list sponsors. Brand Exposure: Company logo will be screen printed on front pockets of 36 ReStore volunteer aprons. Aprons will be worn by volunteers serving at the event. 12 ReStore has a very active Facebook that page that is heavily engaged by a demographically diverse audience. Since June 1, 2017, the page has grown from 4, 677 likes to 4,934 to date, and continues to grow rapidly. ReStore s Facebook posts regularly reach large audiences by implementing a strong social media strategy that highlights organic and unique content. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity has an active list of over 14,000 s that is used to target specific groups for marketing purposes. ReStore sees approximately 10,000 individuals in foot traffic and averages 5,200 sales per transactions per month across all 3 locations.
